My Forest Ladies

Good Morning

This afternoon I am off to Coleford to visit my group of ladies....we have missed the last couple of month's classes as we had Christmas in December, and snow in January but we are going to have a class today!!!

I think I am safe in showing you their projects....we learn a technique at this class and then make two cards using the technique one male and one female version.

Today we are learning the babywipe technique.  We use a babywipe and some bottles of reinker so make our own inkpad.

Here is our female version.

Doesn't the butterfly look stunning with it's mixed colours.

and the male version

Two very different cards using the same technique.  If you would like to learn more about this technique give me a call and perhaps I can show you and your friends at a party and you can create your own version of one of these cards.

Results finally

Good morning

I am a bit late letting you know how Hannah and her team did at the British Cheerleading Association Nationals at Cheltenham
 Race course on Saturday.

It was a long day but all the squads did amazing.  The mini's came first, Youth came 3rd Junior level 1 (hannah's team) came 2nd out of 13, junior level 2 came 2nd out of 12 I think.

Great job to all the girls and their coaches.

A Little Treat Box and Card

Good Morning

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend.  Last week it was my Thursday class which is where we make a 3d project and a card.

Over the last few weeks people have been admiring the new stamp set called Swallowtail and a few ladies had brought it at a recent class so I knew that I wanted to use this set for the card.  The stamp was inked in versamark and then daffodil delight ink and heat embossed with the new iridescent ice embossing powder.  (the photo doesn't give the sparkle justice.)

Here is my version although we had several different colour combos so that the card and box would match.

Some matching ribbon and a few pearls finish the distressed look.  I fooled a number of ladies as they kept asking where the small butterfly stamp was!!!  I had used the newsprint dsp and the butterfly was Incorporated in the design but I don't think anyone else had the same pattern.

New here is the box....it is made by using the Fancy Favour Die

Apologies for the photo quality here, the light is dire today.  Some bling was added using the silver glimmer paper and some rhinestones.  This die is quite expensive at £34.95 and you will need to buy the XL plates and crease pad, but as we were saying in class you could use for wedding favours, Easter treats and gift box's.  In my opinion a wise investment.

Cheerleading Nationals

Good morning

I feel as if I have been up for ever.....no lie in for the Barker's this morning.  Hannah has to be at Cheltenham Racecourse this morning for 7.30am in order to support the younger members of GCA.  Hannah performs this afternoon and we are going to support them later.  I am off for a cooked breakfast at a local cafe as my treat...

It is a treat to thave the BCA Nationals so close to home.  Last year we were in Newport.  I am sure by the time to get home tonight we will be deaf!! the music is soooo loud but it's great fun.  Well it must be as Hannah has been doing this sport since she was 4 and she will be 12 in April.

I will let you know tomorrow how they all get on.  Enjoy your Saturday....

Today I am going to show you then second project we made at training this month.  It is a cute box with 2 note cards and handmade envelopes.

The diagonal plate and the simply scored board make this project fun and easy to do and the diagonal plate is one of the FREE sale-a-bration giveaways until the 22nd March 2013, when you place an order of £45

The designer papers and ribbon are FREE again with a £45 order, as well as the stamp set and mini curly label punch.

The measurements for this box and envelopes are below.  It will be slightly smaller than mine as Kerry re-worked the details so that you can make a box out of an A4 piece of cardstock rather than 12 x 12.  Huge thanks Kerry for doing this XXX

Box is 81/4" x 9"

score portrait @ 1/4" 21/4" 6 and 8
score Landscape @ 2 1/2" and 4 1/2"

Your envelopes will need to be 5 5/8" square and then scored on the diagonal at 2 5/8" on each side.
These will be a snug fit.

You can design your box and envelopes in any colour way and use any designer papers.

February Monthly Training Projects

Good Morning it's cold but the sun is shining.  I am looking forward to walking with my Friend this morning.

Here she is now do you think she looks like she wants to go walkies?

Last Wednesday was Kerry and my monthly training session at Quedgeley.  It was my turn this month to design the projects, and after a hectic day I managed to arrive minus 1 or 2 items but as ever we were able to improvise.

Thank you to everyone who gave up their evening and came, it is great being able to catch up with one another and share our ideas and passion of all things crafty.

Here is the card I designed, lots of elements but an adaptable card that could be made very simple.

The colour combination for this card came from my trusted colour coach.  What would I ever do without it.  Have a look on page 151 of the main catalogue for details. At £13.50 it is fantastic value for money and saves me soooooo much time phaffing with colours.

The fishtail banners are from Beyond Plaid and I just hand cut the lines into 4.  Can you spot the new dolilles and the itty bitty butterfly punch.  This is my favourite style of card I hope everyone liked it.

A Romantic Box Card

Good Morning all

Today I am going to show you the box card we made.

We used one of my favourite colour combo's here Pool Party and Rose Red.  The instructions can be found here for the box.  Many thanks to Dawn for her inspiration yet again and simple and easy to understand tutorials

This box is made so easily with the simply scored board and diagonal plate.  I have heat embossed with the new Pool party embossing powder and the greeting comes from Amazing Family which can be found in the spring mini along with these gorgeous papers called More Amore.

The Class where I taught these two cards is on the second Friday of each month at Chapel Hay Methodist Church in Churchdown and runs from 7.30-9.30pm.  We would love to welcome new members to this small class so if you would like to join us please get in tough with me.

A Masculine Tent Card

Good Morning  is the sun shining with you? it is here although it is a tad cold.  My girls are both back at school and college this morning so it is just me and the dog who is snoring in her basket.

Last week Shayna was much better at sleeping through the night now we need to train Hannah to sleep past 7am in the school holidays!!!

Yesterday we went for a lovely walk in the Forest of Dean with the dog the sun was out and it was a great way to end the holidays especially the hot chocolates and cake after.

This morning I am off to see a lovely lady who is interested in becoming a demonstrator but first I thought I would sit and schedule a few posts for this week.

Earlier this month we made a tent card and a box card at one of my classes.

Here is the tent card.

My colour combo was Night of Navy and Cajun Craze.  The papers were from Parkers Patterns which is in the spring mini catalogue.  I used the Forever Young stamp set for this card. The image was stamped in Early Espresso ink and then the clock face was stamped again in versamark and heat embossed using the early espresso embossing powder and then hand cut and layered on dimensionals .  The ribbon is the denim jean ribbon.

The corners were notched out using the 1/4" circle punch and some mini brads finish the look, with a little bit of spritzing.

I hope you like my masculine card.  I find these sooooo hard to do as I am into pretty cards.

Back in the morning with my box card to show you.

Two More Cards to Show....

Good Morning

Here are the last two cards from my class.  These two are more feminine and focus on using the Hearts a Flutter stamp set and matching dies.

Many thanks to Amanda for designing the bottom card at quarterly training.  The top card uses the heart that has been cut out of the bottom card, some stamped images from the stamp set and the greeting comes from That' the Ticket.  There is a matching punch for this, Stampin' UP! think of everything.

My Monday Class

Good Morning

Last week was busy with two classes for me, so Today I am going to show you two of the cards we made.

My Monday class is held on the first Monday of each month and we learn a new technique and make 4 cards.  Please check the classes tab at the top of my blog for more details.

The technique we tried was the embossed velum one.  I had demonstrated this at my workshops in January and everyone was keen to have a go.

Our image was stamped in versamark and then heat embossed with white embossing powder onto velum cardstock.  You then turn the image over and colour in the back using a padded mat and a stylus.  We used the scoring tool stylus.  We then mounted this onto white cardstock and framed it with summerfruit.  The greeting and dsp come from the sale-a-bration products.

Our second card is using another sale-a-bration set called Feeling Sentimental

Remember all you need to do to receive one of these FREE sets is place an order of £45 between now and the 22nd March and tell me which one you would like.

Next time I will show you my last two cards.

A little gift

Golly it is very wet here this morning......I hope this isn't going to continue for all of half term :(

Now yesterday I promised to show you the gift I made for Donna and Kerry.

I always like to give any of my team members who attend training a little gift and as Kerry's upline Jane had attended a different date I also took along something for her.

I bought a writing book and transformed it using sale-a-bration products, the new doilies and ribbon.

A matching pen completed the project.  This gifts are so easy to make and inexpensive.  I can't wait to see the ladies using them.

Quarterly Training Event

Good morning on this wet and deary Saturday....all is quiet here.  Alice said last night that she was going to spend the day with me but has yet to surface!!!!Paul left at 7am after our new addition woke him just after 6am.  We are really struggling with Shayna as she wakes so early and just cries until you go and get her from her bed in the kitchen, once she is with you she just curls up and goes back to sleep but the problem is she snores!!!!!!!!!!!!!! badly so we decided to do the put back technique that you do with babies, I think we are going to have a stressful week and tiring week.  If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear from you.

Now let me show you the projects I made last week for mine and Kerry's team at training and also my general swap.

Here is my matching card and box.  I have used the colour combo wisteria wonder and lucky limeade.  The greetings come from two of our sale-a-bration sets Pretty Petites and Blooming Marvellous.  Can you spot a few items from our new spring catalogue?  The ribbon and itty bitty butterfly punch.

Here is my general swap

I just love this colour combo....crumb cake and rich razzleberry.  The dsp is from the FREE sale-a-bration papers and the little rose is from the new flower trim and I coloured it using the reinker and water.  If you dry them carefully using the heat gun they harden.  You can also colour using an inkpad and dauber.

Next time I will show you the gifts I took along for Kerry and Donna.

Some time at last to post

Good Morning

Where does the time go?.......I have a pile of things to show you by the computer but finding time to sit and post seems to allude me at the moment.

My tummy is rumbling but I have decided no breakfast until I have caught up with a little bit of blogging.

First I must tell you all about our new Spring/Summer catalogue that launched at the beginning of the month, it is full of the most lushest items.  If you have attended a class or a workshop with me since the beginning of the month you will have received your free catalogue from me, some more of you will receive yours later on this month at class.  If you can't wait til then give me a ring and you can have yours before.

Please click on the side tab bar to view the catalogue online.

Let me show you what we have made at recent parties showcasing the some of the sale-a-bration FREE products.  Remember all orders of £45 or more qualify for FREE goodies.  Now if you are like Teresa who hosted a fab workshop a week ago you could earn yourself, the Sycamore Street Designer series paper, the Sycamore Street Ribbon and button pack, the Madison Avenue Stamp set, a pack of glimmer paper, £65 to spend in the catalogue and 2 items at half price from any current catalogue.....WOW as Teresa said yesterday when I dropped off the goodies it was like Christmas.

Now all you need to do is book a party date with me and I am happy to do daytime as well as evenings, invite a few crafty friends along and provide a cup of tea and some biscuits. Everyone will have fun I can promise you.

Sorry the picture quality isn't great but I hope you can see the lovely card that I made for my hostess and the matching box.  I showed the embossed velum technique, where the image is coloured in from behind which turns the image white.  The designer papers and greetings come from FREE sale-a-bration items.  The box was filled with some ribbon and buttons.

Here is a better picture of the card everyone made.

Right that's one post made, I need my breakfast now, but will be back with you tomorrow showing some items from our recent quarterly training in Fareham.  Last Saturday was a lovely day spent with approx 24 other demonstrators, crafting and discussing business issues.
