NEW CLASS on a FRIDAY

This was our second card for the evening. For this card I concentrated on two stamp sets that our leaving us at the end of the month!! Big Bold Birthday and Plane and Simple. I can't believe that Plane and Simple is going as I love this set. I will be keeping my set for my own personal use.
We have a made a single panel card here. Although everyone had their card pre-cut and scored for them I showed them how to make this simple but effective card.
The colour combination is concord crush, pear pizazz and whisper white. We used pretty in pink, concord crush and pear pizazz ink for stamping.
The dsp are from lap of luxury and we just daubered around the edges. We used the scallop border punch along the bottom panel of the card.
Next month we will be making two projects using the Build a Blossom stamp set and punch. The class is on the 7th October at 8pm. Give me a call for more details.

NEW CLASS on a FRIDAY

I started a new class last week where we will be doing a mixture of projects. If there is something you would like to do let me know and we can try and cover this for you at this class. This month we made two more in depth cards.
I cannot take the credit for our first card. I found it on Monica Gales blog and just loved it. I have changed the colour combo but basciaaly its the same.
The card base is cherry cobbler and we have used the music roller over the top half of the card using cherry cobbler ink. Then we have two panels one baja breeze and the other very vanilla for stamping on. We stamped images from Just Believe in soft suede and then over stamped them. The flowers were punched out using the flower from the punches with the itty bitty stamp set in the mini catalogue. A pearl was added to the middle of each one.
Now the clever bit is the ribbon. We used a mixture of crumb cake and baja breeze seam binding ribbon. We tied a large bow and then spritzed it with water, scrunched up and left to dry. You are then left with a messy looking bow (or maybe vintage). Adhere this using a glue dot.
The sentiment was stamped into the frame from Just believe and then layered onto a piece of baja breeze punched out using the decorative label punch.

Monday Class Card 6

This was our last card of the night....We have used Cajun craze and so saffron and the stamp set was Clearly for You which will be moving from the mini to main catalogue in October.
We stamped the butterflies onto the main image and then re stamped them and hand cut them out and layered on top. A bit fiddly but hey we have to have one that requires a bit more concentration don't we!!!!

Monday Class Card 5

This was our Christmas card for the month of September. We used the Jolly Holly retiring DSP (these have now all sold out) and layered the squares on a strip of old olive cardstock. The square were punched out using the 1 1/4" square punch.
The sentiment was from Occasional Greetings again.

Monday Class Card 4

This card is bright and a bit funky. The colour combination is melon mambo and pumpkin pie.
We used fine flourish to create a background and then punched out a few circles using the 3/4" and 1" circle punches. A bit of stamping and daubering on these add a touch of interest. We used the scallop trim border punch along the edge of the melon mambo card together with a piece of pretty in pink ribbon.
The sentiment is from Curly cute.

Monday Class card 3

This is a black and cream theme. The stamp set is Just Believe. ( I seem to be using this a lot at the minute!) and basic black ink. A few rhinestone gems add a bit of bling.

Monday Class Card 2

For this card we have used night of navy cardstock and ink.
The flower background was using greenhouse garden and the frame was from four frames in the mini catalogue. This lovely set is moving over to our new catalogue in October. The greeting was from occasional greetings which retires at the end of this month so please do make your order for this before it goes. It is also available with a massive 40% discount.
The greeting was placed in the frame using the stamp-a-ma-jig.
A piece of night of navy ribbon knotted finishes off the card.

Monday Class card 1

I can't believe where this week has gone. Its Saturday morning and I am finally posting some pictures for you. I have had two classes this week, Hannah has gone back to school and Alice has had 2 indution days at college and starts Monday......
The above is the first of the six cards we made last Monday. The cards at this class are simple, stylish and easy to duplicate.
We used pacific point cardstock and the retiring blueberry crisp dsp. The square were punched using the 1 3/8" square punch.
The greeting was from just believe and stamped in pacific point ink and punched out using the word window punch.

Workshop card

We had a lovely time at Jo's workshop on Friday evening. All the ladies have been to workshop's before and regulary attend my classes, so we agreed on a simple make and take and then lots of time to look at the last chance list. The ladies had all been back to work that day as well after the school holidays so wanted a relaxing evening.
The inspiration from this card comes from a Christmas card Amanda showed us at our last training and I just changed the colour combo and dsp and of course the greeting.
The card base was perfect plum and we used papers from Lap of Luxury. Rose red cardstock was the base onto which we adhered the dsp which had been punched using the 1 1/4" punch. The edges were daubed using concord crush ink.
The greeting came from Cheer and Wishes which is one of our retiring stamp sets. The inside of the card had a little more stamping using Big Bold Birthday another retiring stamp set. We used the stamp-a-ma-jig to position the two images.

Dirty Dancing

We had the most fabulous time yesterday.......The play was amazing very like the film. I have to admit to being rather hot when we left!!!
When we arrived the water fountains were normal but when we left they were pink and we managed to get a rather nice lady to take our photo with the pink water as the back drop.
The girls shopped as well so much that we had a trip back to the car so that we had more hands free for more shopping....after.
We you loved the film first time round and get the chance to see the musical you won't be disappointed.

Off to see Dirty Dancing

Morning

Thought I would do a quick post whilst waiting to be picked up. I have a girly day arranged today. We are off to Bristol to see the musical Dirty Dancing......I have seen the film soooooo many times and know the script off by heart X

First off is coffee and cakes and a little shopping....then the musical and a lovely meal after. What more could a girl ask for?

I have been told the area around the theatre is very pink, even the water in the fountain outside. Will try and take a picture and show you tomorrow.

I have lots of things to show you and hope once Alice starts college on Monday and Hannah goes back to school I can get back into the swing of things......

see you tomorrow XX
