Monday Class cards in August

I am a bit late in posting these, but hopefully things will get back to normal in September once everyone is back at school and college...Alice is back to college on the 3rd of September and Hannah starts her new school on the 5th September.

Here is our first card using the Reason to Smile stamp set (remember this stamp set is only available until the end of August.

The second card uses the blossom punch and Doily triple layer  punch.  We also used some of the first edition DSP behind the punched layer.

And the last card had a more masculine feel.  We used Trendy Trees and the wood grain background stamp for this card.  It was great to use Trendy Trees as this was one of my first purchases from Stampin' UP!

Milk Carton Holder and card in Marina Mist

Good Morning

Hannah comes home later today, and I am really looking forward to seeing her!!!  Life has been quite this past week, but it will be lovely to have her home.

Here is the Marina Mist and Very Vanilla combination that I promised you yesterday.

This is my favourite colour combo, and we again customised the ribbon buy using the inkpad and daubers.

We are off visiting family this weekend and getting back into a routine of having everyone back home, I hope you have something nice planned and the weather doesn't interfere too much.

Thursday's class card and box project

Gosh I can't believe how fast this week has flown by.......Hannah has been away with her friend and family this week, so Paul and I have been enjoying some quite time, or rather I have as Paul is so busy with work and not coming home until about 9pm and I am still in bed when he leaves in the morning!!!!

I had a lovely day on Monday with Kerry and Belle two fabulous ladies that I have meet through Stampin' Up, and met another friend on Tuesday for breakfast, and yesterday my friend Vicky came round and we opened my pre-order together and had some fun oohing and ahhhing over everything, and we only have another week before we can pre order again from the new 2012-2013 ideas book and catalogue I am so excited.

Being able to pre-order and have an early look at catalogue items is a wonderful perk of being a demonstrator, as well as being able to earn products for FREE, so if you would like to have the same privilege's contact me for a no obligation chat.

Last Thursday was my card and 3d project class and it was lovely to catch up with my ladies as I was unable to make the last class because I was ill.

We had two colour combinations to choose from, Marina Mist and very vanilla and Soft Suede  and Pink Pirouette.  Here is a photo of the soft suede combo.

The Box was a holder and then 2 milk carton box's fitted inside.  The DSP is from Beau Chateaux and the ribbon is the pretty in pink scallop dots ribbon and some very vanilla taffeta ribbon.  Tiny clips hold the milk carton closed, which could be filled with sweets.

The card uses the Reason to Smile stamp set which is available until the end of August, more details can be found on this on the right hand bar of my blog.

The pink thread was originally white and we coloured it using the ink pad and a dauber.  I hope you like this gift and card project.  I will show you the other colour combo tomorrow.

Later on today I have my hospital appointment with the shoulder consultant, as I am still having pain and pins and needles, but thankfully my blood test results for any serious condition came back negative earlier this week, so we will see what the options are later regarding an operation or pain management strategy.

Monday Technique Card

At the four card class I run at the beginning of each month we learn a new technique and make 4 cards. This month I had to try the triple layer stamping technique that seems to be on everyone's blog at the mo. Here is the card that we made using this technique.
This card takes lots of mat and layer pieces of cardstock but is so easy to recreate, and their our several utube videos you can watch. I used the creative elements stamp set and old olive and melon mambo ink. The scallop dots ribbon is also melon mambo. If you like learning new techniques and having a stash of verstile cards, this class may be the one for you. If you would like to try this class the next one will be held on the 3rd September. Contact me for more details.

My Thursday Class projects in July

Morning I have found my class projects from my Thursday class last month and although they are a little bashed around I wanted to show them to you. My good friend Vicky ran this class for me and cut the kits as well as I was poorly. Many thank you's again XXXXX We had several colour combinations of the current in colours and everyone made the box and then 4 mini cards to go inside together with envelopes. Here is one of the colour combinations we used.
The simply scored tool made this box so easy to make and of course the matching cardstock, ink, ribbon and accessories that Stampin'UP! is so famous for. I am going to challenge myself to resize this box to hold larger sized cards before the end of the school holidays.

Double Pocket Card.

Good Morning here is the other card I promised to show you.
This card is called a double pocket card and was made using the blossoms punch and mixed bunch stamp set. Again I have used panels of dsp from the attic boutique range on the front sides of the card and teamed them with pool party ink and cardstock. The greeting comes from the Tea Shoppe stamp set and was stamped and punch out using the word window punch and then layered onto a piece of pool party cardstock punched out using the modern label punch. I just love how these two punches work together. A button from the twitterpated range with a thread of pool party bakers twine provides the finshing touch. You will see that my envelope was made using dsp but I didn't have enough sheets for each of my ladies, so they made their envlopes using whisper white cardtsock and then stamped images from the Mixed Bunch stamp set onto the envelope. The envelope is so easy to make using the simply scored tool and the diagional plate. Measurements for different sized envelopes can be found on Jackie Topa's blog. My word that is 2 posts in 2 days.....I have much more to show you from last month and also from my 4 card class this month, so as soon as there is a hint of sunshine I will be ready with my camera to take some photo's.

Some cards to see at LAST!

It's is dark and miserable in Gloucestershire this morning and whilst Hannah is quitely sat in front of the TV I thought I would photo the cards from my class last friday evening and show you. I have really struggled with my crafting mojo since being poorly and decided one card would come from my ideas stash and the other one I managed to pull togther after a full morning of crafting and phaffing with it!!!! I wanted a vintage feel for this card and also one that would take some time for my ladies to make....they are getting so good and quick at making the cards. oops Hannah has left the TV now, but I will carry on.
I wanted to use the Reason to Smile stamp set in one of the cards at this class and the flower image lent it's self to being coloured in with the marker pens and then some dazzling diamonds was added to the flower head. The image was then dry embossed using the frames embossing folders and hand cut out and layered onto another image of the oval in perfect plum cardstock with a torn edge. There is a layer of paper from the attic boutique stack of dsp sat behind it. All the corners of cardstick and paper have been rounded and distressed using the cutter kit and crumb cake ink and daubers. The scallop edge was cut using the bigshot and the edgelits die. I made a double bow from two types of ribbon and put an antique brad through the centre. The tiny tags greetings were tied onto the bottom of the card using linen thread. The spritzer tool and crumb cake and perfect plum marker pens were sprayed all over the card to finish that vintage look. Three large pearls adorn the top corner of the card and some hand cut flowers at the bottom. Pop back tomorrow and I will show you the other card we made together with it's matching envelope.
