Things are returning to normal

Good Morning Well ladies and gents it's been a while since I have sat at the computer never mind picking up any crafting tools....... I am finally beginning to feel more like my old self, but know that I still have to take things easy as we are still adjusting my medication and of course I am using my arm...what joy to be able to shower and wash my hair by myself....even cooking on Monday was a pleasure! All my classes will be running as normal in August and I am hoping that this will be my only incident of calcific tendonitus, the doctor will be keeping a check on things over the next 4-6 weeks and will refer me for surgery if that is necessary. Thank you for all your lovely texts and well wishes they were really appreciated even though I was totally out of it!!!! The timing was not the best as it was Hannah's last week at junior school and there was so much going on, but thanks to friends, my sister, my parents and one of Hannah's teachers I managed to attend all but one event and Hannah didn't miss her limo ride or the last breaksfast at school. A massive thank you to Georgina and Vicky who made sure my classes ran as normal. Thank goodness I had designed all the projects a few days before I fell ill. I hope you will bear with me and I will continue to post as and when I can, I am really looking forward to doing some creating and of course I have projects to share with you all from this month. Enjoy the sunshine, we have a family get together tomorrow in Hampshire for about 20 adults and children and for once Paul is downing tools and coming along (only because I still can't drive mind you!) so I hope the sun keeps shining as the children will spend all day in the pool. Caroline update!!!!

Just to let you know that Caroline is still in an awful lot of pain and unable to move her arm, but the GP has given her the steroid injection this evening. Its likely to be 3-4 days before she gets any real benefit. If this doesn't work then she will have to be referred for surgery! They have also had to change her tablets yesterday, it was by far her worst day in respect of pain and to be honest she was like a zombie. She is now on a slow release tramadol and can only take 1 in the morning and 1 at night along with ibuprofen. Today she is still woozy but not as sleepy. Hopefully over the weekend she might be able to start to use her arm slowly to do many of the things we take for granted. Take care, Georgina

Poorly Caroline

Dear All Sorry for the lack of posts, likely to be none for a few days. Caroline has decided to see how much we all love her and test us!!!! Caroline unfortunately is a poorly girl at the moment and was taken into hospital on Friday. She has been diagnosed with Calcific Tendonitis. Caroline went to the GP today to have an injection, which they couldn't give to her because not being content with just one ailment she has also been told it is extremely likely she has shingles.... She is really testing us!!! The GP has said she is unfit for work for at least a week :-( Thursday's class will be going ahead as scheduled with the assistance of the lovely Vicky Bubb... Take care all for now and I will try and give you regular updates.. Georgina xx

Extravaganza Cards part 1

For the afternoon projects last Saturday we made 4 lovely cards with a little bit of a difference.

Here is the first one, which was inspired from my visits on the web and also the lovely Jane Cutting made one like this for a training event in April

Can you see all the little pearls making up the centres of the flowers.  This was a bit fiddly but sooo worth the effort.

The second card was a flower pot card....I even think we have converted Alison on her purchase of a daffodil delight inkpad :)

The top two flowers pull out and there is space for you to write your special message.  The lovely organza ribbon holds the flower pot closed.

Decorated Bird tin and Cards

The morning project of my extravaganza was a decorated bird tin and 4 cards.

Everyone received a tin and a lovely decorated spice jar filled with all their ribbon and accessories for the day, a full pack of pearls and glue dots, together with 1/4 of a pack of twitterpated designer paper and 4 notelets and envelopes, and  on their table was either  the wood or clear mount Mixed Bunch Stamp set and the blossoms punch if that had been ordered.

Here is the tin

The top of the tin was covered in riding hood red and baja breeze cardstock and some of the twitterpated dsp.  All the edges were distressed using the cutter kit.  A bolt of baja breeze seam binding ribbon was tied around the middle.

The bird was die cut using the elegant bird die and the big shot and then the body was embossed using the dots folder.

The tin was also decorated inside and a pocket was made inside the lid to hole the envelopes secure.

We then made four cards and envelopes to go inside.

I apologise for the quality of the photo's, these were taken last week when the weather was so dark and I had to have the lights on, but I hope you get the idea.

The tins were purchased from Tinware direct and the notlets and envelopes are from Stampin' UP!

Back soon with some photo's of the afternoons projects.

Extravaganza is Here.................

Good Morning all

I have my comfy shoes on and the hall was set up last night, so I am just off to get scones for our afternoon tea before doors open at 9.30am

I have one last card to show you from Monday and then I will be on my way.

This is my favourite card from the class its so pretty and delicate.  Again it's another case from pinterest but I just couldn't help myself...Bashful blue and Marina Mist are our colours.  The script is from the En Francis background stamp, the flowers are Vintage Vogue and the sentiment is from Happiest Birthday Wishes.  We used the bigshot and the circles 2# die, and the banner is from the petal cone die.

Please check back tomorrow and I will post some photo's of the day and our projects.

Enjoy your weekend.

More Cards From Monday's Class

This next card that we made is fun and perhaps suited to a childs birthday.  I had taken along my bigshot and numbers die for one of my ladies to use and then another die cut a number 5 for her grand daughters birthday.  I love it when people can see a card and know who they are going to send it too stright away.

We have used bright primary colurs  for stamping and the Pennant Parade stamp set and Curly Cute.  I found this card whilst on pinterest and pretty much cased it.

Our next card is pure simplicity and again another case from pinterest

This card uses the scallop square punch, the 3 hearts punch and itty bitty.  The ribbon is very vanilla taffatta and ties wonderful bows.  The sentiment is from petite pairs and was stamped in the white craft ink.

Thursday already

Good morning all

I have felt a bit lost this morning....Hannah has gone for her discovery day at Chosen Hill School today and was dropped off at 7.50am at her friends house.  Now we don't normally leave home until 8.30 if we walk and 8.45 if we drive.  I have had breakfast in peace and done the food shopping and the first load of washing is on the line!

I am pretty sure I have finished prepping for extravaganza on Saturday, I have checked off my list but I always feel like I have missed something.

Last night I did some blog hopping and have decided on class projects for the rest of the month and for Amanda's quarterly training event on the 14th....golly am I normally this organised!!

Now last Monday was my 4 card class including a technique.

We learnt the faux mosaic technique this is a lovely was to use up the left over die cuts pieces when you purchase a wooden stamp set.  versamark and clear embossing powder and a heat gun are the only extras you need, in addition to your stamp set and coloured ink.

We used the Tea Shoppe stampset together with pear pizzazz and lucky limeade inks.  The DSP is from the Nursery Nest stack.

Thank you to my 3 ladies we are waiting patiently for some ribbon to tie their bows.  I completely misjudged how much ribbon was left on the spool.
