Trevor's handiwork again

Trevor made this card for his mum Irene and David. I love the way he has combined SU products with others from his vast craft stock.

Vicky's Hostess Gift

Vicky's gift showcases the 2,5 ,7,10 score box again. I used one 12 x 12 sheet of Kraft cardstock which is soon to be renamed crumb cake together with perfect plum and very vanilla.
The box was scored and then I used perfect plum ink and the so beautiful wheel to stamp the box all over. I used the wheel guide to ensure my rollering was straight.
I front panel was stamped with the vine stamp from tiny tags (on offer this month at £15.16 which gives you a saving of £3.79) and then a panel of very vanilla was added. This panel was stamped with the flowers from Its Beautiful. I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the flower outline.
The tags in the middle are from tiny tags, stamped in perfect plum and punched out using the medium jewellery tag.
A piece of perfect plum ribbon is tied in a bow to finish off.
The box was filled with a selection of goodies....x

A Christmas Workshop

This morning Vicky invited me to do a home workshop for her and her sisters. She wanted a xmas theme and something a bit special. Well I am always happy to tailor workshops so we agreed on a card and a 3d project to make. As there was only 4 people this was a workable option in a reasonable time frame.
I choose the Season of Joy stamp set and my colour theme was bravo burgundy, very vanilla and always artichoke.
We stamped the card base in the swirl stamp using bravo burgundy ink to make our own background.
The central panel was stamped twice and we used the second image to decoupage some focal points. The flowers were adhered with tombow but the @ and tree used dimensionals. Silver brads were placed in each corner to define them. The flowers on the central always artichoke band, were stamped and then punched out using the 1/2" circle punch.
The bottom photo shows the insert of the card.

A Pretty little Tri-fold card

Whilst my sister was babysitting for me last week she made this pretty little tri-fold card, from
my card and dp off cuts. The stamp set she used was Garden Dream which is a level 3 hostess gift and this was teamed with my marker pens to colour in the image directly onto the stamp. To tie the pretty bow she used bashful blue taffeta ribbon. This card is really effective and a great way to use up those offcuts of ribbon, cardstock and designer papers.

Christmas is how many weeks away...

This little pillow box uses handsome hunter cardstock together with real red and very vanilla.
I have used versamark and the lovely swirl stamp from Season of Joy to create my background.
The main image is stamped in real red. I stamped the image twice and on the second image I punched out the 'o' in joy using the 1/2" circle punch. This was layered onto a 3/4" circle of handsome hunter and raised with a dimensional. I have used real red satin ribbon to tie at the end of the box.
Another lovely gift box.

A Busy Bee

Hi
Just a quick post today as I am going to the lovely Jane's this morning for some crafting and a team meeting. There are lots of new exciting things happening in the world of Stampin'UP! not least our new catalogue which previews for demonstrators on the 1st Sept.
Last night I had that mojo flow and planned and made all 6 cards we will be making at class on the 6th September. (very organised for me).........Hannah happily amused herself on the Wii, older children were both out and hubby still at work so a great time to craft for me.

A Creation from Trevor

I am sure you will all agree that this is beautiful.

Thank you for sending to me Trevor x

Big Bold Birthday again....

I am just trying to show you how versatile this stamp set is.....I made a small pillow box using pink passion cardstock. I got my template from the SU website and printed it straight on the cardstock. I then used close to cocoa and very vanilla cardstock to mat and layer. My image is a bit wonky cos I thought I would be clever and not use the stamp-a-ma-jig!!! my chocolate chips on to top of the cup cake used the spot stamp and I just coloured in the ones I wanted with my stampin'UP! marker pens to get the effect. Looking at this made me hungry as I am on a post holiday diet but at least there's no calories in it......
To balance the card again I have used 3 circles punched out using the 1/8" handheld punch and adhered using the 2 way glue pen. (this is ideal for the more fiddly bits). I have tied a knot in a piece of chocolate chip ribbon to finish off the card.
I think these box's will be lovely for putting small christmas gifts in especially jewellery sets.
Join me next time for a christmas pillow box. See you soon.

August Hostess Gift

This pretty little box shows off some more of the stamps in the Big Bold Birthday set. The parcels and their bows are separate stamps so I used the trusty stamp-a-ma-jig to line up. To make the box I used a 12x12 sheet of apricot appeal and used the jumbo handle, vintage wheel and wheel guide to create my own background together with pumpkin pie ink. The colour combination is lovely. Once I could get my head around the instructions this was easy to make.
For Jan I filled the box with a few sweets, a couple of stamps and some ribbon.
I have a couple of dates left in August if you would like to book a workshop so please do get in touch.

August Make and Take

This morning I did a home workshop for Jan and this is the card that everyone made.
We used summer sun for the card base and layered with DP from the sweet pea stack in the mini catalogue, regal rose and very vanilla cardstock. The image comes from Big Bold Birthday. During the month of August you can purchase this stamp set for £19.16 saving you a whooping £4.79.
To start with we created our own background using versamark and the spots stamp from the set.
We used the stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the two separate images and stamped in regal rose and so saffron ink.
The greeting comes from the same stamp set and was stamped in chocolate chip ink onto very vanilla cardstock and then punched out using the scallop oval. You can see how we cut the scallops off the top and bottom so that the greeting fitted into the regal rose scallop.
To balance the card at the top we punched out three 1/4" circles and adhered them using the 2 way glue pen to the top left hand corner. We then added crystal effects to give a raised lacquered finish. (you just need to give this time to dry so everyone was carful with their card.)
A bow to finish the top of the cup cake was all that was needed. We used 1/2" striped grosgrain ribbon in pretty in pink.
The top photo show the insert for the card. the cupcake was stamped again and I added the happy birthday greeting from the set.

I'M BACK....

Good morning everyone

I am now back, refreshed and ready for business ha ha
My to do list spans two pages at the moment. Washing in every corner and with today predicted to be the only dry day of the week I think I am going to be busy. I have thank you cards to make, make and takes to plan and also a teenage birthday tomorrow. We had planned on making a return to the mountain boarding venue but with heavy rain forecast I need to resort to plan B (only I don't have one yet!).
There's also the opticians to repair my daughters glasses and the dentist for everyone. I will find time to post some creations over the next few days, so please do come back and take a look. x

Lack of posts

Dear All

Just want to apologise in advance for the lack of posts that there will be over the next fortnight.  I am taking a 'holiday'!!!!  Hannah and myself are going to sunny Devon today to stay with a good friend until Thursday.  Hannah is then off again Friday to stay with her grandmother whilst Jo Bowden and myself go off to York for a few days.  Matthew is on cadet camp and Alice with her grandfather so my lovely husband Paul gets the house to himself, although he has got to make 2 bedrooms into 3 :-)

Hope you are all having fun and crafting away, if you would to share any of your creations then let me have a picture and I will post it on the blog.

Best wishes

Caroline
