I've won an award !!!!

Add caption

The lovely Elaine Harding has sent me the above award.  Now it's my turn to think of 7 things about me and 7 people to pass this award on to and link back to the person who sent it - Elaine.

I'm not good at talking about myself but here goes :

1. I used to be a successful branch manager of a high street building society.
2. I am mum and dad to my two teenage children following the death of their father.
3. Until 3 years ago I used to road run for miles daily and was a tiny size 6.  For those of you who know me I would now struggle to get into my size 10's.!!!!!!
4. I have a daughter who competes in National Cheerleading competitions, and can make as much noise as the other doting parents..
5. I have a gorgeous sister who is my best friend.

6. I am a full time carer to my stunning 16 year old daughter Alice who has Asperges Syndrome.

7. I am very lucky to have 3 fantastic kids who I love with all my heart, even if life comes with daily challenges!
...and the nominations for the next seven blogs are
Michaela because she is a "Newby" and managed to make swaps for our team Quarterly meeting in January despite having not received her starter kit.

Gilly again because she's a "Newby" and is so passionate about Stampin Up!

Kerry because she is my upline and full of inspiration and never ceases to amaze.

Jenny Moors - words fail she is just amazing.
Julie Kettlewell - just love the simplicity of her designs.
Jo Dumbleton - projects are out of this world.

Jane Cutting - my grandmother in the stampin up world!

"Mission" completed - I think, I hope I've done it right! I would love to nominate Trevor Poole if only he had a blog, for those of you that have received a "Trevor swap" you will understand why!  Come on Trevor time to get a blog if only to post your designs.

My Team Training Event 10.2.11

As My team is starting to grow I have decided to run a monthly team meet of my own, which will give us a chance to chat and craft as well as talk business!!!!
This was the make and Take I designed for Trevor, Vicky, Irene and Georgina (Irene and Georgina are our honory members).
My colour combo came from the colour coach and is early espresso, pink pirouette and baja breeze.
We used the Baroque Motifs and Party this Way stamp set together with the spiral border, and scallop border punch, word window and the modern label punch. The flowers were punched out using the boho blossoms punch. A small pearl was added in the centre.
The small strip of DSP was from Greenhouse Gala.
I also got out the spritzer tool and we used this with the early espresso marker pen.
Tomorrow I will show you some swaps that the team brought.

Monday Class 6 Cards

This is the first card we made earlier this month at my Monday Class.
The design of this card is suitable for a male and uses a simple layout of a whisper white cardbase teamed with a layer of pacific point card stock of which the edge has been punched with the scallop edge border punch. A strip of DSP was then added from the blueberry crisp range. The centre happy birthday stamp is from Punch Bunch one of the SAB sets, which was inked in pacific point and then punched out using the scallop square punch.

This week my home is being completely re-wired.........omg yesterday I didn't things were too bad, minimal noise and mess..........well I think they were going easy on me because today there is lots...............of mess and dust.

At the mo I am trying to work through my swaps for our regional training event in Fareham on the 26th being very organised and getting as little as possible out on the table. Valentines Day exploding box

Morning, I am having major technical problems with my computer and posting at the mo. Its really frustrating but will hopefully be resolved over the weekend. Fingers crossed this post does what it is supposed to.......
This is the inside picture of the exploding box we made earlier on in the week at our valentines day class. There were little tickets to write personal messages on in private!!!!!! We used textured cardstock in whisper white, pretty in pink and real red for the box. The DSP were from my subtles paper stack. (this is such great value for money at £15.50).
At the end when we came to put the lid on the box my ladies were surprised that it fitted....They did such a great job over the morning and should have more confidence in their abilities ...
I will try and be back tomorrow with another post.

Valentines Day Class

Today I held the first of my new class events at my home. Our class was to make gifts for our loved one next week.

This is the Valentines day card we made and I have to give all the credit to Kerry Timms for this one as I have part cased a recent card of hers.

Our card base was real red and layer of whisper white was placed on top. We have used the En Francis background stamp on the bottom half of the card and stamped in basic black ink. We then used the large flourish from Bliss and stamped in real red after first stamping off on our grid paper to give a much softer print.

The sentiment is from the Bliss set also and was stamped in real red, punched out with the oval punch and then layered up onto a black scallop oval. It is raised on dimensionals to give some depth to the card.

The hearts at the top of the card come from I Hearts and were stamped in basic black again. (you need to give the black ink some time to dry or it will smudge!!!) The middle heart was stamped in the real red, hand cut and again raised on a dimensional as is the small heart.

A piece of black 1/4" ribbon was knotted and adhered around the middle using sticky strip.

If you like this card why don't you check out my events section and have a look at future classes and book in.
