A BIG thank you

A big thank you to my friend Jo who came round this morning to help finish my swaps for convention next week.
I was on a mission this morning, when my husband and younger daughter left home this morning at 7.30am (they were off collecting 32 stock car racing tyres from someone at Newbury services) I started work on completing my swaps. Jo arrived about 9am and tied lots of knots for me and then assembled cards.
By 11am they were all done phew one less thing to think about...................We have 4 days before we are off to Stampin' UP! convention, I am getting very excited now!!!

I still have lots of things to post for you to see so please keep checking in. x

Project 2 Candle Art

Project 2 was to decorate a candle using the contempo christmas stamp set. Each person designed their own images. The images were stamped onto tissue paper and trimmed.
To transfer the image onto the candle you use wax paper and a heat gun.
Here's Edna again with her finished candle.

Project 1 Accordian file Purse

Registration began at 9.30am. Ladies collected their name badges, and assembled their stamp sets for using further on in the day. Nancy was also to hand with tea and coffee.
At 10am we started with our first project of the day which was an Accordion File Purse. We used early espresso and cherry cobbler together with Jolly Holly DSP.
The photos show everyone working at their own pace. Each lady had a pack containing all the instructions for the day as well as finished projects on each table. Georgina and I mingled and gave help as and when.
You can see Enda and Becky with their finished project and a smile .....

MIA

Morning all

I can't believe I haven't posted for over a week. Its been hectic putting the last finishing touches to my all day event on Saturday and getting ready for card class last night. There will be plenty of posts coming out over the next few weeks where I will be showing what my ladies made at the all day event and also cards and projects that have been made at classes and workshops.

My friend Trevor has also sent me pictures of more lovely cards that he and his mum have made and I will be showing these too.

Its half term next week so please bear with me as I juggle my SU life and children......

A big thank you to everyone who came last night. I hope you all had a fun evening I know George and I did.

Monday Card class 6

This is the last card of the evening. I have teamed whisper white with melon mambo and pretty in pink cardstock. The melon mambo was stamped using the same colour ink and the fine flourish stamp. The flower on top is the Flower accent stamp, stamped in pink pirouette and then hand cut. The centre of the flower is a 1/2" circle punch out.
The eyelet border punch was used along the bottom and another greeting from Sincere Salutations was stamped.

Monday Class Card 5

This card uses one of my favourite new stamp sets in the catalogue Artisitic Etchings. I have teamed it with very vanilla and soft suede cardstock. The images are stamped in soft suede and crumb cake ink. These two colours contrast lovely together. The sentiment is from big bold birthday and is punched out using the word window and layered on a scallop oval.

Monday Card Class 4

This card is whisper white base followed by pumpkin pie. Our image is stamped in early espresso. The tree comes from Lovely as a tree and the sentiment Sincere Salutations.
The opposite corner have been rounded using the corner punch.

Monday Class card 3

Firstly sorry about the picture quality here. Again an effective card made by just stamping images straight onto the whisper white card base. The stamp set is Season of Joy and I have used always artichoke and riding hood red ink. The greeting is punched out using the oval and oval scallop punch.

Monday Class Card 2

This is the first of our 3 Christmas cards. Nice and easy to make. Again the card base is whisper white teamed with a strip of bravo Burgundy punched with the eyelet border punch. We used the jumbo wheel so swirly with bravo Burgundy ink. The wheel guide helps keep the rollering in a straight line. The greeting comes from the new Level 3 hostess gift. This is a clear mount stamp and we were able to line it up without the need of the stamp-a-ma-jig.
Sometimes the most simple cards are the most effective.........

Monday Class Cards 1

This is our first card of the night. The card base is whisper white, followed by a layer of early espresso which is just yummy.... We used the scallop border punch along the bottom.
Our image is stamped onto whisper white cardstock using marker pens in old olive and early espresso. The image comes from Autumn days.
The sentiment is stamped in white craft and comes from Sincere Salutations.

Georgina's swap for quaterely team meeting

I helped design Georgina's swap for our recent team meeting.

We used the Season Of joy stamp set together with old olive and very vanilla cardstock. The inkpads used were old olive and real red. One ponsietta was stamped in the middle and then 3 separtate hand cut flowers were adhered around the side. Vintage brads were used in the centre of each flower.

A stamp-a-ma-jig was used to position the greeting.

New Catalogue

Last Saturday the 2nd October I invited my past hostesses to come and collect their complementary new catalogues and have a play with some of the new products. There were also chocolate biscuits on offer................
5 ladies came and we made the above card using new cardstock, DSP, ribbon and stamp set.
The card base is Concord Crush which is one of our 5 new IN COLOURS with a piece of pretty in pink layered of which one side has the spiral border. Then a piece of Newsprint DSP was distressed using the distressing tool and daubered with Concord Crush ink.
The image is stamped in Concord Crush and comes from the new Artistic Etchings stamp set. The pretty border alongside comes from the same set but I stamped the image on grid paper first just to lighten it. The brad comes from the circle ice range.
The cute little bow was tied in the new 1/8" taffeta ribbon and is in early espresso. ( I have a feeling that you will be seeing this colour a lot through my blog.). For those of you who are perhaps a bit bow impaired this ribbon makes it so easy. I think even I could tie a bow under pressure.
For those ladies who were unable to make it I will make sure you receive your copy of the catalogue.
