A special card and gift for a special friend

It was my best friends birthday at the end of the month and this is the card and gift folder I gave her.
I have used the in colours and some DSP for my theme. Last week I was sorting out left over class/workshop kits and this card was adapted from one of those left over kits.
I used pocket silhouettes for the stamping.
The message on the insert inside the gift folder was printed on the PC and then punched out.
Will she like her present!!! I will let you know................

Friends Crafting

Last Thursday I spent the day crafting with Trevor (my downline) and his mum Irene.
The card was my design and was adapted from one of the leftover workshop kits I had sorted out. The colour was certainly celery and pretty in pink. The subtles family is my favourite!! I showed Trevor how to create this little pinwheel effect from the 5 petal punch.
After lunch Trevor showed me how to make this lovely box (in matching colour), which is perfect for jewellery. Thank you Trevor for the tips on making a perfect box!
well I nearly did didn't I!! Trevor also showed me some masking techniques, and gave me the measurements for perfectly making square and rectangles using the scallop trim corner and border punch.

This is a card is recently sent to my downline Trevor. I had fun using the owl punch and the woodland walk dsp.

Monday Class Card 6

This is a slight variation of the card we did. I can't seem to find my photo so thought we would use Pat's card instead.
I love the colour combo of this card and the use of the punches.

Monday Class Card 5

Panels and layers give dimension to this card.

Monday Class Card 4

This one uses a very vanilla base and wild wasabi ink and cardstock.
The images are from Just Believe and the sentiment from Party this Way. We stamped the tall grass image from the stamp set and then run it through the lattice embossing folder and the big shot. A bit of tearing on the wild wasabi cardstock is added to the bottom. We used the samj to centre the sentiment before hand cutting out the image.
A bit of gold elastic cord is knotted at the top.

Monday Class card 3

A Christmas card this time. Using whisper white and perfect plum ink and cardstock.
The stamp set is Season of Joy and we added 3 rhinestone gems to the centre of the flowers at the top of the image.
We punched the scallop trim border punch along the strip of cardstock.

Monday Class Card 2

Don't you just love this bright card? The colours are real red, pumpkin pie and pacific point. The stamp set is seeing stars and the greeting is from Curly Cute.
The scallop border punch was used along the real red cardstock.

The stamp is a single one and is called Sail away (123013 £8.95) and is ideal for masculine cards. The spiral border punch is used along the side of the card. A bit of gold elastic cord tied finishes the card.
Everyone added their own sentiment from sincere salutations.

Plane and Simple

Now this card is much bold than the last one. I used odd scraps of card that I had. The base is crumb cake teamed with pacific point and blueberry crisp dsp. The sentiment comes from party this way and was stamped in pacific point ink, punched out with the word window punch and layered onto the modern label punch.
Again a bit of mat and layering finishes off the card.

Plane and Simple

I have been asked for some more cards using the bi-plane from the stamp set Plane and Simple.
I have this set as one of my favourites in the mini catalogue.
This card has a whisper white base and is teamed with basic black and newsprint DSP.
The image was stamped in basic black and then I used the Black journal pen and the spritzer tool to give a more vintage feel. A little bit of mat and layering finishes off the card.

Workshop card

I did a workshop last Friday evening for a lovely group of ladies. Thank you Jan for inviting me.
This is the card that we made during the evening. I am really impressed with my bow tieing ....the seam binding ribbon makes it so easy to do.
My card base was rose red and then we created a watermark background using versamark and one of the images from style beautiful. The other contrasting colours were so saffron and wild wasabi.
We used the scallop trim border punch along the side edges and then used the Beautiful Butterflies die and the big shot to cut the butterfly. (this is a great way of using up all your scraps) the butterfly was finishes of with a row of pearls along the centre of its body.
The sentiment comes from sincere salutations and is stamped in rose red ink, punches out with the ex large oval punch and layered on a decorative label. The DSP comes from the soft subtles paper stack.

Thursday Class Card Project

This is Thursday's card project. We have a bashful blue cardbase, teamed with basic grey, whisper white and pacific point.
The piece of pacific point cardstock at the top has been rollered with the very vintage wheel and pacific point ink. At the bottom of the card we have a piece of Pacific point dsp from the paperstack dsp.
The scallop circle is the die again and the big shot, and we used the cop-o-dile to punch a hole in each scallop. (sorry ladies I know some of you didn't like doing this!) The second scallop in whisper white was from one of my own dies and then passed through the square lattice. The flower was from the flower bust embosslit and had a rhinestone gem in the middle. The leaves were from the 2 step bird punch again.
The greeting came from the level 2 hostess gift stamp set in the mini catalgoue Afterthoughts. The fish tail was created using the photo corner punch.
The ribbon was the whisper white satin ribbon.

Wedding Gift

I have to give credit to Jo Whittle for this gift, as it is a smaller version of a frame she brought to last Thursday's class. Jo saw a similar gift in one of the posh!! shops in Cheltenham and knew she could recreate for a fraction of the cost.
I brought a box frame from the range and painted it using a tester post. I hand drew a heart shape and then die cut lots of the butterfly embosslits and covered the shape.
To finish off the corners I punched out the small heart from the 3 heart punch and adhered then to the frame corners and covered with crystal effects.
