My Reading Swaps and a little sneak peak!

Following on from yesterday I feel like I am living in a chinese laundry...there is washing draying everywhere. My husband has really got to fix my tumble dryer. I made 2 different swaps for Reading. Design one
and design two
The idea of swaps is that you swap your cards with other demonstrators and come away with lots of ideas and inspiration for using different products and stamp sets. I am sure you can lots of things on these two cards that you haven't seen before....and do you know what you can get your hands on these products from tomorrow. Isn't that great....

I am still around!!

Hello everyone, I am still around I have just been soooo busy and also poorly. I have had food poisioning which took a while to get over and then Hannah went down with a sickenss bug a week ago and so of course that meant several days off school so everything has got a little bit behind. Yesterday saw our Stampin'UP! regional training event in Reading and we had such fun. We were asked to design our own name badges and here is my creation.
Do you like it? It's totally me fussy and pretty :) I had an early start yeserday leaving home at 7am as I was driving with Kerry and Belinda. We arrived at the hotel just after nine and then Kerry and I were busy setting up for our roles later on in the day. Kerry gave all 128 of us a talk on her Stampin'up! journey and also held a mock workshop. She was absolutley fab!!! All her hard work and commitment showed us all how she has achieved the incentive trip to Vienna this year. I am honoured to have her as my friend and Stampin'UP! mummy. The afternoon consisted of a "share fair" were 5 demonstrators were asked to run tables and talk about certain aspects of our job and also a "wow and techniques table". I had been asked to take on this challenge which was an honour as there are so many talented demonstators in the uk. The baby wipe technique was my "wow" and I demonstrated this lots of times and made cards, box's and also a 6 x6 scrapbook page. Pictures of these will follow as I gave all my 5 samples away to the people manning the other tables, as we didn't get to see what each other was doing. I have more kits so will put them together very soon and show you. It was great fun and I met such a lot of lovely people. If any of you missed out on the handout please email me at caroonstampin@googlemail.com and I will send you a copy. I am just waiting for my Hubby to come back from his unit with lots of washing for me, whilst I was in the warm yesterday he was racing his stockcar in Essex and I was informed at 2am when he got home that it had rained all day!!! and night and he was soaked and cold (he is never cold!) so I have been left to do some house work! and unpack all my bits from yesterday whilst he goes and sorts out his car...... Right that's it from me today. I will try and post a bit more this week!!! Remember we have our new Summer Mini Catalogue launching on the 1st of May so I will have lots to show you. If you would like your own copy of the catalogue just get in touch and I will get one to you.....there are soooooo many lovely things I am so sure you will all have huge wish lists! Bearing that in mind how about booking a party and earning yourself some items off that list for FREE? I would love to come and show you some of our new products so what are you waiting for? get in touch and we can put a date in the dairy.

Thursday Class projects

Last Thursday saw my card and 3D project class. I have carried on with the theme from the spring mini catalogue.

The card is a copy of a cake shop. Now I was shown how do to this last Saturday at our training my a lady called Belinda. I am sure the other ladies and gents their will echo the look on my face when belinda brought out this card but I was able to recreate myself and adapt slightly. Jane Cutting and Kerry Timms have done similiar ones this month in their classes too. But at Stampin' UP! we share so that's ok!

My colour combo is melon mambo, whisper white, and daffodil delight. A variety out punches have been used and the big shot stripes embossing folder.

Our lovely 3D project came about when I was surfing the web a few months ago and I came across a blog called mercedes creations this lady has a amazing talent and I sue to be casing some more of her ideas. She uses sale-a-bration papers in her deisgn but I have gone with the berry blossoms dsp from the spring mini!

This gift makes a lovely hostess gift, the flowers came be removed and made into gift tags or any kind of emblishment. I have added a lid to my box ( I am becoming quite sklilled at working out measurements) some ruffled ribbon finishes off the look.

Tomorrow I will show you another box which I made as a swap for Belinda, kerry and Laura when we meet up in Bristol last Friday for coffee.

My Friday Class Projects for April

At my Friday class we make two indepth cards and I have concentrated on products in the spring mini catalogue which are only with us until the 30th April 2012. (remember to get your order's to me by the 30th if there is anything you need/want!)

The first card is a twisted easel card. I spent over a day designing this as I couldn't quite get the finish right! my friend popped in for coffee and as I was moaning away she said why don't you put this here! and that was it card finished.

I have used papers from the spice cake range and the original blossoms die.

The colour theme was pretty in pink and pear piazz with very vanilla for stamping on.

Our second card was a patchwork design, and the flowers in the middle were get using the original blossoms die again and the spice cake material.

If you would like to learn how to make this card book a workshop with me and I will show you and your guests how simple it is.

New Baby

Hannah's guide leader got in touch with me recently and asked if I would make a baby card for her new grandson who had arrived in New Zealand.

I decided to use the baby tees wheel and colour in with the watercolour pencils ( really loving these)

The envelope was matching too. I knew Lyn would be sending a parcel of goodies so I didn't need to worring too much about the layers on the card and the postage costs!

The sentiment was generated on my computer and then punched out with the oval and scallop oval punch.

Belated birthday wishes xxxxxxxxx

I have been playing catch up all week, after the school holiday's and thought I would spend 15 minutes uploading some photo's instead of having breakfast. My tummy is feeling a bit unsettled?! let's hope it soon settles as I have a class this morning and tooooooo much to do.

On Monday it was my baby's 11th birthday....(her first birthday celebrated at school, as it has always fallen in the holiday's) so she had 3 friends home for tea and then family arrived half an hour later.

Here is Hannah and her friends...I can't believe I have known them all since they were 2 1/2 and now they are all getting ready to go to senior school....

Hannah decided to set granny a challenge with her birthday cake and decided she would like a yellow racing car! my poor mum her fingers were black after making the black wheels!

I will post some card photo's for you tomorrow as I have lots to show you.

Sweet Treats for Easter

For some reason blogger had saved this post in draft! This is the 3d project we made at my Thursday class last March.

This is the lovely Easter box we made. The box would suit jewellery sets as well as other sweets or if you remove the insert perhap's some stationary.

The box base is rose red and the insert is so saffron. The lid was made from a sheet of office acete. The greeting is from Teeny Tiny wishes. Now although I left everyone to do their own scoring and cutting it didn't take long for everyone to make this box! Ladies you are getting so skilled.....I am looking for just the right project for you all this month!!!

Back soon with the cards from my revamped Monday Card class. I hope you are all enjoying the easter break especially if you have children off school. Yesterday we went to see "Pirates" in 3D and had a meal out. We had planned on going to London, but my daughter Alice has had to go into college (she is not very happy about this! as you can imagine), but she has received a distinction in psychology and merits in sociology today so I am a very proud mummy...looks like I may have to work a lot harder to fund university!

The last Monday card

This is the last card we made in our Monday class. Again I have used the spice cake papers and the sentiment comes from your a gem. These are available to order until the end of the month.

The theme for this month's class has been to revisit and use products from the spring mini catalogue.

Right I am off to play with some new product......more on this in a few weeks time!!!!!

Some more Monday cards

Here are a few more cards from my Monday class. I am enjoying some piece and quiet as Hannah and Paul are off racing today and Alice is at work! I Really most make use of the time and craft and play!

This card uses the lovely Charming stamp set and the spice cake papers all of which will no longer be available at the end of the month, so please make sure you place an order if they are on your wish list.

Instead of inking up the stamp in a solid block of colour we coloured in the stamp with marker pens and then gave it a quick huff to moisten the ink before stamping. Using this method will allow you to add any colour you like! Some mini brads and victoria lace ribbon finish off the vintage feel.

This second card is stark in comparison. We have used the red glitter paper and the large scallop circle to create a statment with this card. The birthday greeting comes from one of our hostess sets.

The glitter paper and scallop circle punch are available to order until the end of the month.

Projects from my Thursday class last month

Sorry for the late posting of these projects. Last week seemed to fly by! and I was feeling slightly under the weather, and struggling to get motivated.

We Made this lovely card

The inspiration for this card came from Kerry Timms here http://www.kerrysstampinspiration.blogspot.co.uk/
and I just played around with the layout and added a few extra's.

We used the lovely sale-a-bration papers I am sooooo going to miss them and also the tag the two tag die. We have been using chrystal effects quite a bit and Sharon used the alphabet die to create the number 70 and used this instead of Happy Birthday. The delicate touch of ribbon at the side finishes off the card.

Tomorrow I will show you the 3d project we made. Right I am off to my revamped 6 card class tonight so I had better pack my bags. X

Winner of the Marker Pens

Did you remember that I have been running a marker pen drawn throughout sale-a-bration?

Here is what you had the chance to win with a £45 order, hosting a workshop, becoming a recruit or buying a ticket.

I had 63 entries into the draw and asked Hannah to pick a number between 1-63, after a discussion of why? she picked number 49 and this ticket belonged to Ruth Aldridge and was her entry for signing up as a demonstrator in March.

Congratulations to Ruth and many thanks to all of you who entered the draw. I will be offering a marker pen share later on this month so please keep checking here and your emails for further details.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. X
