Convention cardmaking...........

Hi there, I can't believe its Wednesday already. This week is one of my busiest during the month as we have had team training on Monday evening and I have run two classes today, one at home this morning and then a repeat of the same class this afernoon. I will be running the same class again tomorrow evening, so once I have posted I am taking the luxury of having a long soak in the bath, with a little drink........ Today's show is the card we made at convention, in our hotel room one evening. kerry and I both made shoebox swaps, it' a tradition to do some stamping in our PJs ...... We needed to think about our cards as we only want to carry limited supplies. I had spotted something very similiar on the internet and I just loved the simplicity of the card. So here it is
My base and layer are both crumb cake cardstock, one of my favourite colours. The tree is punched out using the tree punch which is available in the Autunm/Winter catalogue and then I layered a small piece of Newsprint designer paper behind it. The ribbon is the Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding ribbon and I have stapled it to the card using our small hand held stapler. ( I love this tool) some linen thread and a glitzy star complete the look with the Noel sentiment. The sentiment is from the stamp set Bright and Beautiful. I hope you like todays card.

See how my Many Merry Stars Kit is coming along..........

Hi Today's post is coming to you a little earlier than normal, but I am off out tonight to a party near Worcester. This will be their third party and I ran my Xmas Stamp a stack for them during half term. I have made one of the box's this week and given it a swing opening, so that you can pop a little gift inside. The red star in the centre was cut from a piece of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock, and the centre star was cut from the original top piece of the pre-cut cardstock in the kit. I just carefully folded the corners of the star when I ran it through the bigshot. I used the Stars framelets which co-ordinate beautifully with this seasons Christmas Stamp sets and this Kit. There are also great to use with birthday and congratulations cards.
I then had a go at one of the smallest stars. Stampin'Up! have given some feedback on putting these together, but I definately endorse the fact that you need to make the larger box's first, as the small ones are fiddly, I have made mine into a Xmas tree decoration and added a bit of bakers twine so that it will hang from the tree.
So here is a picture of my full collection of stars so far...........

October Party make and take card.

If you attend a Stampin'Up! party you will know that you always get to try out the products before you buy :) by making a card or a 3d item.  At my parties last month we made this simple card using the All is Calm Washi Tape and the Festival of Trees stamp set and matching Tree punch.  If you buy the Festival of Trees Bundle you save yourself 15% on the price.  Whats not to like...........

I made use of the Frosted Sequins which cost £4.50 for approx 400 sequins thats less than 1p per sequin.........BARGAIN

Seeing Stars

Today's card is another from last months card club.  I saw the idea on pinterest (oh how I love this site for inspiration) and went with a copy of it.

The colour combination is Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake and Strawberry Slush.  I used the Star from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch set  and the stamps were from Amazing Birthday.

I love the crumb cake base and then the exra layer in the same colour.

I hope you like this fun card, It's a good way to use up some of those odd scraps of cardstock that often lie around on your desk.

Rolled Marble background Technique

Each month at card club we learn a new or revisit a past stampin technique.

Last month it was the rolled marble technique..........it is created by using marbles and rolling them over your cardstock to create a unique background each time.

Take an old clean take-away tub and place a few drops of re-inker into the bottom.

Next gently roll over your marbles I tend to use about 3 or 4.  If you feel the reinker is too dark just mop up some of the excess with kitchen towl.

Now lay your cardstock into the tub and roll the marbles gently over it until you are happy with the result.

Allow a few minutes for the ink to dry and then finish your card.

My design was simple and the sentiment could be changed for perhaps a sympathy one or thinking of you.  A change in colours would also make my design more feminine

Fridays Merry Stars

Well I hope you all had a lovely weekend......mine started early on Friday when I went up to the NEC for the craft Fayre event with a friend, this was a last minute trip but a lovely surprise the downside is it put me out for completing my Friday Stars post.

So I have now completed 3 stars from the Many Merry Stars Simply Created  Kit and here they are

I have to admit the larger stars are easier to put together, but you do have to remember to crease the folds securly with a bone folder, I am hoping to create a few Christmas Tree decorations with the ones I assemble this week.  Watch out for Fridays post............

The Kit I used is the the Autumn/Winter supplement and costs £23.95.  The kit provides all you need to make 26 box's.  If you can get together a group of 6 friends I will come along to your home and bring the inkpads and stamps in order for you and your guests to make a selection of 5 box's, either one evening or during the day.  If you like the sound of this give me a call and lets get a date booked in the diary.  The cost per person will be £25 payable in advance.

Pop by tomorrow to see more crafting.

My Convention swaps............

Hi I am really pleased with how much quicker this posting is for me now................I hope you are enjoying your visit and like what you see. Today I am sharing my convention swaps with you. If you are wondering what SWAPs are let me explain. Whenever we attend a Stampin'Up! event we make swaps which is a card front only using all Stampin'UP! products. We then swap with other demonstrators which gives us inspiration and ideas for future projects we may make. This is my first one using the Fine Feathers Bundle. This is a favourite set of mine. Apologies for the shadow on my card stand.
This is the second one which is a complete contrast in the colour combination...Burmuda Bay and Tangelo Twist (I think). You will see this design on another card soon but with a different colour combination.
I hope you like the projects today, join me tomorrow when I will have 3 of the Merry Stars box's to share. Enjoy the rest of your evening

A little Christmas share today.....matching box and card

Hi, I am hoping todays post will be much quicker than yesterday now that I have everything all organised and photographs taken. I enjoyed my reward of crafting last night, the little stars box is lovely. I have made a plan to make one box a night and will share them with you on Fridays post each week. So todays project is from our monthly training get together a couple of months ago. Its the same box I showed you yesterday only I didn't make it as tall. The matching card is sparkly and full of stars. I used Blackberry Bliss and Crushed Curry Cardstock which is a combo I really like. The Endless Wishes and Bright and Beautiful stamp set and Framelits were used for the card. I hope you enjoy these two projects. As always all the products used can be brought from me via my on-line shop on the right hand side or by contacting me direct. First we have the box
and the card

I am still here..........I promise

Hi there............... It seems like ages since I last visited my blog and I need to make an effort to photograph and start regularly posting, because if you are so kind as to visit me you need to see some projects right? My camera is on charge and I have so much to show you from the last month. Firstly I want to tell you about a fabulous new kit that Stampin'UP has released its called the Merry Stars kit and can be found in our Autumn/Winter Supplement. I have catalogues to give out to all my customers as a gift from me, so if you don't have yours leave me a comment and I will get one to you asap. If you are not yet a customer just get in touch and I can tell you how to receive all the current catalogues from me for FREE........... If you click on the link on the right hand side you can view the supplement online. The kit has supplies for you to make 26 box's and I have a kit sitting in my craft room wiating for me to have a play....it's on my list and once I have sorted out my blog I am going to reward myself with some crafting. So since I last posted I have been to Brussels for our annual convention, it was amazing to be with so many wonderful people in such a lovely place, I have run 3 Christmas Stamp a Stack classes as well as a Gift Box punch board class and my regluar classes...........so there is such a lot to show you, my camera is still charing but I am not going to publish this post until I can photograph something to show you. So finally some photographs of my Thursday class projects last month. We made a lovely tall box and matching card using the Papillion Potpourri stamp set and Soft Sky and Pear Pizzazz colours. I really loved these colours together so I hope you do to. Right fingers crossed here is the box we made and also a close up of the pretty tag.
and now the card
Well it's only taken me 90 minutes to make this post. hehehehe Here's hoping I am going to get quicker at this, I am not technical in any way so things that perhaps take you 10 mins take me much longer. But hopefully I now have my camera sorted for making posts easier and pictures the right size as it has seemed hit and miss when I blog from my iphone. I will be back tomorrow with more to show you, it's now time for dinner and my reward of making a box from my new kit. Bye for now..............................
