Last Class of 2011

My last class of 2011 was held on the 15th December, and since then I have had a bit of a break from crafting. End of term things with Hannah and then visits to Sussex and Hampshire last week and that last minute Christmas Shopping and queuing to collect the turkey......

let me show you what we made...we decided we had had enough of Christmas so we made these fun box's and card.

Here is the box we made. The original idea came from Jenny Moors and my ladies asked to make one exactly the same so we did.

and the card

Now I don't normally do this with cards but I used 4 different stamp sets with this one. Everything Eleanor, Aviary, French Foliage and Happiest Birthday Wishes. They just seemed to go well together. The card is a two fold one and just so easy to create.

We had mince pies, sweets and homemade cakes as it was the birthday of one of my ladies.

Cards by some very talented ladies and gents

I have just taken down my birthday cards today to make room for Christmas cards. I thought I would share some of the handmade ones with you.

Friday Class

Last Friday it was our last Christmas class. I decided that we would have a fun packed evening with 4 projects to make.

We made a gift bag inspired by Jenny Moors and a tag to go with it. We used the Mocha Morning Speciality papers and early espresso cardstock.

We then moved on to this lovely snowman box that Amanda Fowler showed us how to do earlier in the year.

and lastly a little thinking of you card. The stamped images are from Pines and poinsettias and were stamped using the marker pens so that we had a multi coloured image.

In the New Year I will have a brand NEW set of the marker pens to give away! please make sure you check back to find out how you can take part.

Thank you tags

At my Monday class most of my ladies place an order of £16 or more and receive their 6 cards for free. The order was placed last tuesday and I received 3 large box's of goodies on Friday! Wow that was a quick turnaround. Now having said that I had a class on Friday evening and a lot of my ladies were coming so I needed to get the order unpacked and thank you cards made.

I decided to use the two tags die and the big shot to make thank you tags.
The greeting and image are from Easy Events and I coloured in the images with blender pens and ink from the inkpad leaf.

Its a pamper day!!

It's my birthday today and I am off with my sister and 2 friends for manicure's and pedicure's and a spot of lunch.

We will be having a laugh I am sure.....but hopefully not having to act as the midwife. My friend Paula is expecting a baby and he was due on the 12th but has decided to stay put for a little while longer.

That Christmas Card....

I have finally managed a 10 minute slot to upload some photos and post for you. Tea is cooking and we are off to Hannah's Christmas Carol concert tonight. Just hope it may stop raining so that we can walk....parking will be difficult at the church.

This is the Christmas Card that I demonstrated at a local library craft group.

I love the vintage look that the lace ribbon gives the card.

Monday Class Card 5 and 6

Now we are on to the last two cards of the evening....

I hope you can see this picture ok? Its a simple but effective Christmas card. We embossed the whisper white sheet cardstock using the big shot and the vintage wallpaper embossing folder. The greeting was added at the bottom.

and our last card....

This pretty card using Season of Joy and Green house Garden stamp sets together with a greeting from Sincere Saluations. There was a bit of hand cutting on this card.... Look out for my next post and you will see how I turned this card into a Christmas one.

Monday Class card 3 and 4

Here are the next two cards we made

I love the vintage feel of this card. The basic grey cardstock was distressed using the distressing tool and then daubered with basic grey ink. We did the same to the layer of DSP (retired stock). We then added some black scallop trim ribbon and stamped the boat. The boat is one of our A la carte stamps and is great value for money at £8.95. A birthday greeting was added inside.

I think my ladies have decided perfect plum is one of my favourite colours....and they would be right. I took the inspiration for this card from a recent one my Stampin' UP! granny sent me. Thank you Jane!

I sold several of these frames for the big shot last night...They are so useful and great value for money at £7.95 for a pair. One rectangle and one Oval.

Tuesday 6 December 2011

Monday Class card 1 and 2

Here are the first two cards we made last night.

I think the second card will look better with a bit of bling or a subtle pearl. This is somthing my ladies can add later.

A Lucky Girl!!!!

Gosh I can't believe it's almost a week since I last posted. Things have been a bit hectic at home.

On Wednesday I picked up my new car......A little present from my husband!
My old faithful Ford was part exchanged for a smaller and more ecomonical Nissan Note. Its lovely to drive and I have to admit I will feel more confident doing the longer journey in this car.

On Thursday I meet a lovely group of ladies at a local library craft group. They were all new to Stampin' UP! and it was my great pleasure to introduce them to a whole new way of crafting. I will show you the christmas card we made in a few days time.

On Friday I went to see Duran Duran at the LG Arena Birmingham with my sister. We had a lovely evening and it was great to revisit the music of my youth....

On Saturday I was up at the crack of dawn taking Hannah and my Mothering- in- law to catch a coach to crystal Palace were Hannah was taking part in a Cheerleading Competition, and then it was back home to get ready for, 4 ladies coming to my house and crafting. 3 of them made the Christmas Wreath and Helen came along and had free range of all my stampin'UP! punches and big shot accessories.

Here they are.....ignore the mess in the background please.

A quick tidy up and then Alice and I were off to Cheltenham Ladies College for the Winston's Wish annual memorial service. We always do this togther to remember Alice and Matt's dad and meet up with friends we have made. I also made my annual donation as I do not send general Christmas cards instead I donate the money to Winston's Wish so that they can continue with the fabulous work they do in helping children deal with the loss of a parent or sibling.

Hannah and her Nan arrived home about 9.15pm shattered and disappointed that the squad didn't come within the top 3.

Finally we all made it to bed.

I have Monday Card class tonight and will be showing you the cards we make during the week.

Thursday Class Card Project

Our November class was held last Friday, a bit later than normal due to me being away at convention....

Here is the card we made. The bauble is heat embossed with the cherry cobbler embossing powder. These fab new colours are amazing and going down very well with my customers.

Our second project was this lovely vintage box. Everybody received a bar of chocolate to put in their finished box to take home, but it will easily hold a lovely set of jewellry or fancy pen.

I just love the Mocha Morning paper and the lace ribbon and antique brads.

The final class of the year will be held on the 15th December 2011 please contact me to reserve your space. Class costs £8.00

November Friday Class

At My last Friday class we made these two projects.

A lovely Christmas Card with Gold Embossing

The second project was a gift card holder using the top note die and the big shot.

My Swap and Room Gift from Convention 2011

Last year at convention I found out that when you share a room with a fellow Stampin' UP! person you generally make them a gift. I had 3 gifts to make one for Jane, Gilly and Kerry.
I had kept 4 tins from my extravangza and decided to decorate them and put coasters inside.

Next came my team swap. There were 13 of us this year attending convention, and this was my swap. I bought the frames just after last christmas and they have been hiding in my shed waiting for the right moment....

and finally my convention swap. I made a decision to make a smaller number of swaps this time (21) but for them to showcase a number of techniques and give that WOW factor.

This brings me to the end of this post I hope you like what you see....I would love to have some more friends join me at convention 2012 in Germany if you would like all the details of how you can join me give me a call on 01452 855231.

Lastly Vicky I hope you are reading this!! Thank you so much for your help in making all my swaps/gifts. It made the task a lot quicker XXXXXX

News

Hi just to let you know I am still around, just had a busy week and a fab weekend attending Jenny Moors extravaganza.
Georgina and I made a weekend of it by taking the children out of school on Friday afternoon and travelling down to Ringwood in Hampshire to stay with my Uncle and his family. Whilst Georgina and I went crafting for the day on Saturday, Hannah and Thomas were set to work raking the leaves in their Great Uncle Steve's garden and then they had a trip to Burley where they went witch hunting....
If you ever get the chance to go to Jenny's extravaganza you will be spoilt and have the most wonderful time crafting with friends and making the most beautiful projects. Jenny is a very talented lady. She holds a crafters competition where you can make something put it on display and then throughout the day everyone has one vote for their favourite thing. I made this Christmas wreath, inspired from one I saw hanging in Jane Cutting's kitchen on Wednesday and I won! I was amazed.
Hannah went off with her dad this morning to stock car racing together with her guy for the competition there. They are having a bonfire after racing. She has just phoned me to say her guy won.....I think we need to buy a lottery ticket ticket, and see if our luck continues!
Hannah's guy was made from lots of brown paper which I have with my stampin' UP orders, a pair of old tights, an old dressing up costume and stampin' UP! cardstock and sticky strip. So it sounds like they had fun today I hope she saves some of her prize for me (its chocs) for relaxing with later whilst we watch the last episode of Downton Abbey and of course X Factor.
I have two classes running next week so I hope to see some of you either Monday/Friday or both.

Thursday Class Card Project

Gosh I can't believe it's a week since I posted. I promised the girls that I would spend some time with them this week as its the school holiday's and I have been so busy during October with workshops and my all day event.

I thought I would share last Thursday's class projects with you.

Here's the card

I pretty much cased this card from Monica Gale. Everything Eleanor is my favourite new stamp set I just soooooo love it. My colour combo is black, soft suede and pool party. I screwed up the lace ribbon border and adhered it using sticky strip so that it look like lace! The dsp is from the neutrals paper stack and we hand cut the flowers. The greeting was from Tiny Tags and the banner was from the cone die.

Here is our 3D project

We have used Wild Wasabi and Marina mist and the cone die to make this project. We tied the box with the lovely Victoria crochet trim.
