Thursday's Class projects

Last Thursday was the last class of the month for me and we made a lovely desk caddy and manly card to match. Unfortunately it was a week late for father's day but I am sure a use will be found....for everyone's lovely creation. First of all we have the card We have used naturels ivory cardstock for the base and matched either night of navy or early espresso cardstock with the shade of dsp. For this class we used Well Worn dsp which I have not used before but I felt it matched the theme well. The bottom section of the card was run through the square lattice embossing folder to give some texture to the card and then we have lots of matting and layering which give depth to the card. The trees are from Lovely as a Tree and were stamped in always artichoke or old olve ink. The greeting was from Teeny Tiny Wishes and was punched out using the word window punch and layered onto a modern label. Some mini brads were attached to the top corner of the card. Now here is the desk caddy.. I wasn't quite sure how to take of photo of this to show you, so I have gone with an image from the top. The new simply scoring tool made this so quick and easy to score...need to think of something more complicated ladies!! Some ribbon threaded through holes in the top corner's of the caddy finish it off. I had pens, highlighters and chocolate in mine.

The final card

Now this card was a similar version to one we made at our recent training event. It's another bright card and uses lucky limeade and the sweet shop papers and matching brad. The greeting is from the Sweet Cake stamp set which is in our summer mini and was punched out using the modern label punch. A second label was punched out in cardstock and then cut in half and layered behind the stamped one as a border. Some lucky limeade bakers twine finishes the look. My next class is on Monday 2nd July please contact me to book your place.

Card 3

Now I have to give Credit to Jane Cutting for this card. A couple of weeks ago Jane Kerry and myself got together for an evening of food, wine and crafting. We had a lovely time and this card was one that Jane had designed for us to do and I completely cased the card for my class. The colours are so bright and fun which was fitting as the weather had taken a turn for the worse. We used the polka dots embossing folder and the big shot together with the mixed bunch stamp set and co-ordinating punch. The one inch circle punch and the 1/2". The greeting is from Curly cute again and we used the scallop trim border punch along the bottom edge. The leaves were punch from the blossoms petal builder punch. The lovely card to brighten up someones day.......

Card two and our technique

We always learn a technique at my Monday Class and this month it was the faux tear technique. Using this technique we made a masculine card using the lovely Open sea stamp set and early espresso and soft suede ink pads. If you would like to learn more about this technique I would love to come along and demonstrate to you and your friends in a workshop. We have some amazing promotions on at the moment and through July so get in touch today and book a date. The anchor was stamped and then punched out using the tag punch and attached to the card using linen thread.

Monday Cards for June

As I said in an earlier post I am very late in showing these cards as they had disappeared!! So here is the first card we completed. We have used twitterpated dsp and blushing bride cardstock and ink. The corners have been punched with the scallop corner punch and we used a rose red marker pen and the spritzer tool to break up the cardstock. The greeting is from curly cute and is outlined with two large pearls. The large tea cup is from Tea Shoppe and was stamped and hand cut out. A cute bow adorns the handle. The seam binding ribbon is so easy to tie ( great when you are not good at doing bows under pressure!!!).

Special Requests...

Over the weekend I took part in a craft exhibition and I was asked if I could make two special cards to celebrate a graduation. One was from Grandma and the other from Great Grandma. It was a great opportunity to use Teeny Tiny Wishes and For the Family stamp sets, to personalise both cards. I used the Mocha Morning DSP and the Lovely as a Tree set for the image stamping. Here is card one and the insert Card two and the insert

Flower Burst....

Our second project in the Friday class was a cascading card.  Now I have seen lots of these but found a tutorial on In Love With Stamping which once I had mastered the cuts and folds was pretty easy to follow.

Now this card is very bold and bright, not quite my normal look but it went down well with everyone.

We used papers from the beyond the Garden series and added colours like melon mambo, pacific point, daffodil delight and tango tangerine.  We used the mixed bunch stamp set and matching punch and punched the leaves from the build a blossoms petal  punch and wild wasabi cardstock.

Sandra decided to make her's a softer card and turned over the dsp to the plainer side and used softer colours, she has aslo added some lovely pearls to the flower centres.

Right I am off to photograph my Monday cards for June.  I thought I had misplaced them and then I found 3 of the 4 cards but now I have them all so pics will follow later on this week.

Pin Wheel card

A week ago I ran my Friday class for June and one of the projects was a pin wheel card.  I had seen some different ideas in cyber space and thought it a great idea for using up scraps of cardstock and paper.

My scrummy colour combo is pool party and wisteria wonder.....I just love these!  The dotty paper is from the sweet shop design in the summer mini and although the photo doesn't show the paper is embossed.

I used the 2 square punches from Stampin' UP! and cut cardstock with the largest and paper with the smallest.  These were mounted onto two pieces of cardstock that formed an 8 point star.

The lovely organza ribbon, a brad and a few pearls finish the look.

Family Birthday's continued

Golly I can't believe the week is nearly over...things got a bit hectic here with workshops, classes and cheerleading but let me show you the card I made for my mum.

This is a gate fold card and is held closed by the two sentiments and some lovely white taffatta ribbon..  I used the smallest framelit die and then stamped the greetings.  The top one is from petite pairs and the bottom one is For the Family.  I am loving this set as it's so verstile.

The paper is from the nursery nest set.

Today I have been to a craft event in the Forest of Dean and met lots of lovely ladies.  I will be starting some craft classes at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Coleford from the 18th July.  Please let me know if you are interested.  These will run in the afternoon from 2-4pm.

I am back there tomorrow so please do come and say hello if you are passing.  The event is from 1-5pm tomorrow at the church, there are so many lovely craft ideas to see and refreshments are available.

Right I am going to try and schedule a few posts as I am a bit behind this month....TV is poor tonight so I thought I may as well work!

Family Birthday Cards

Last week was a busy one for birthday's. My Grandma's birthday was on Friday and this is the card I made for her The inside was stamped with a personal message, using the Curly Cute and For the Family stamp sets. The floral images were from Border of Romance and coloured in with the marker pens. We went out for lunch at a local garden centre and whilst we were there my grandma wanted to buy a new baby card but she wanted it to say Congratulations to a Special Great Nan, as we were unable to find just the right thing I altered one she bought and added the wording and punched out the greeting using the modern label punch and a few gems. Mum's birthday followed on Saturday and my Mother-in-laws on Sunday. Pop back tomorrow and I will show the card I made for my mum. I can't show my Mother-in- laws as I forgot to take a photo before I sent it!

Diamond Jubilee Crown

Don't we just love our children. Yesterday morning I asked Hannah if she wanted me to help her make a jubilee crown for her to wear today for their school diamond jubilee picnic and non uniform day with a theme of red white and blue. No thank you she said I should have known better shouldn't I!!!! On the way to guides at 6pm Hannah decides she would like a crown.....I was half way through my housework and still had a meal to cook for Paul and I but YES you guessed right, I came home and set too on designing her crown just leaving a few last minute bits for Hannah to do when she got home. Here she is in her Pj's waiting for daddy to come home, but letting me take a few pic's...
Here is a close up of the crown. I have used real red and night of navy cardstock with whisper white for stamping on. The stamp set is Artistic Etchings. Around the top I have used the largest rhinestone gems.
I hope it stay's dry over lunchtime, I am not aloud to get to the picnic :( I suppose when you are 11 it's not coool to have your mum around! Right I am off to make some birthday cards. It's my Mum's birthday on the 8th, my grandma's on the 9th and my mother-in-laws on the 10th wow...
