Thank you for the lovely comments that have been left so far XXX

Hannah was in a BCA (British Cheerleading Association) competition in Newport on Saturday and I wanted to say a huge well done to the whole squad.

The Minis team came first
The Tiny team came first
The Youth team came first (this is the one Hannah is in)
The senior Stunt group came second.
The senior team were also placed.

The results make all the running around and the costs we parents pay worthwhile.

ILWS challange Feb 12

I promised myself earlier on in the week that I was going to make my card for this challange.

We had to incorporate something that we love together with something that we don't like or use. (ie that stamp set in the back of the cupboard!)

Now a long time ago I won Autum Days in a raffle, but it was not a stamp set that appealed to me at all!!!! I have lent it out and a friend has made some lovely things so I decided this was the stamp set to use.....Spice Cake are my favourite dsp at the moment...so the card is starting to come together.

I used the baby wipe technique and garden green, riding hood red, and night of navy reinkers to make my own unique inkpad for stamping. I was not going to add a greeting, but thought I would be organised and make a fathers days card.

Here is my card ....

and the inside....

Now the next test will be to see if I can add my link to the challenge on ILWS? wish me luck...

All that glitters

I decided to play some more with the button buddies stamp set, and this time used the cherries stamp. In blogland I had seen something very similiar and decided to recreate.

The cherry is stamp with the basic black ink (be careful this takes a little time to dry) I then used the 3/4" punch to punch out two circles using the lovely red glitter paper from the mini catalogue.

A little red satin ribbon finishes this simple but effective card.

I also decorated the inside of the card.

Right its almost time to do the school run....and after that it's a meeting at school and then I have set myself a challenge to complete with ILWS (in love with stamping) all my materials have been on the table since Sunday so I really must create my design today. The rest of the week is going to be prepping for extravaganza in 12 days time!!!!!!

Some more scallop square die projects...

Apologies for the photo quality...not sure what happened here!

The tiny box made from one scallop square was scored between the 2 and third scallop and then a cut along the score line gives you the normal box template for assembling. I made some little gift cards using sprinkled expressions. The box was lined with dsp from the spice cake range.

This next project uses the scallop square die for the lid. The box was made using another piece of card stock. Ideal for giving a samll piece of jewellery.

Jane's Monthly Training Session

Hello, it's Saturday Morning I am am off to our monthly inkaholics training session in Stroud.

We each have to make a card and then put all the products needed in a basket so that everyone else can make the card. (this is called a shoe box swap).

As an added twist we have been asked to use a sale-a-bration set this month.

I have used elementary elegance and the dsp papers.

I love the butterfly embosslits and the leaves die and used them to decorate the stamped frame.

If you would like to see what our training is all about and are thinking about become a demonstrator perhaps you would like to join us at our next meeting? Let me know if this is something you would like to discuss further.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend....

Thursday's 3d project

Now I have been using the scallop square die this month at classes so after a bit of internet surfing I found the measurements for making a box, which uses the square die for the top and bottom. The box was found here http://www.artisticavenger.com.

I used the delicate doiles stamp set and we heat embossed the images using cherry cobbler embossing powder.

The greeting comes from Elementary Elegance and was stamped and then punched out using the curly label punch. A little bit of cherry cobbler scallop dots ribbon and a mini brad finish the look.

Thursday Class Card Project

Well it's the 3rd Thursday of the month again...I can't believe how quick the month has flown by...

I received the Button Buddies stamp set from Amanda back in November and hadn't had chance to play...or even mount it...(shush please don't let on)

After a bit of blog hopping for some ideas I decided to g for a childrens card using the elephant. My idea was taken from a card I found on splitcaost stampers.

The card is bright and fun...incorporates punches and embossing folders as well as chrystal effects on the piggy's nose.

I am sorry for the late post but I didn't want any of my ladies to see the card before coming to class.

Sale-a-bration cards

Last week I meet up with Nickie a fellow demonstator and we both made two cards using sale-a-bration sets.

Here is one of the cards I designed for Nickie to make...my other card was the same as one of my Monday cards.

This card uses the lovely colur combo of pool party and lucky limeade, and of course the sab papers which are just devine!!!!

The stamp set I have used was Outlined Occasions.

Here are the two lovely cards Nickie designed for me to make.

The first card uses Sprinkled Expressions.

and the second one Springtime Vintage...

I hope these cards have inspired you...remember you can have these stamp sets for FREE with each order of £45. So what are you waiting for? give me a call to place your order, or book your own workshop.

The missing Tag

Good Morning

I forgot to show you the tag we made last week...Sorry

Here it is now.

So far my week is lovely and chilled...I have another coffee date with a friend this afternoon and again tomorrow. Hannah is aslo off to stay with her nanny on Thursday and doesn't come back until Saturday afternoon. It has been quite nice to do a bit of blog hopping and class planning at a slower pace this week. I will be back tomorrow with some cards I have made.

Alice's Reaction

Well Alice has returned, I think a happy reaction to her tidy room and hopefully a promise to keep it tidy and dust and hoover each week. (that might have something to do with me saying NO money for her weekly bus ticket).

I have been to see a lady called Jenina this morning who has signed up as a demonstrator so we were filling out all her paperwork and then later on Hannah and I are going out to see friends.

Here is the second project we made last Friday evening.

First the card using the Create a Cupcake stamp set and matching punch.

I just love the colour combination of rich razzleberry, and pretty in pink. Lots of texture has been given by using different embossing plates. The bow was made by passing the ribbon through the middle of a brad and a little tweaking. It was so nice to make a square card for a change, especially as Stampin' UP! now stock the square envelope.

As an extra we also made a gift tag, using the left over cardstock from cutting out the scallop square, and then added a little cupcake.

Thank you for stopping by.

Lazy Sunday's...

I am enjoying some lovely peace and quite today. Alice is with her boyfriend and Hannah and Paul have gone off racing. I have the radio for company and my to do list.....

I have tried to not go into Alice's bedroom for weeks, but decided this morning enough was enough, how she hasn't become ill with the amount of dust I have no idea. Now Alice is almost 18 but the most untidy hoarder I know!!! How both girls can be so different....Hannah has a place for everything and heaven help anyone who messes it up! I have cleaned, hovered, hung up clothes and put clothes in the washing up basket. Remember the large sacks you could buy at christmas to put presents in? Well that is full of rubbish...the bed has been made and I feel that I can enter the room again. What does Alice think? I will let you know tomorrow.

Emails have been written and orders placed, so now I am on to planning for my class next Thursday. It's half term and I have made a point to catch up with friends and enjoy some time with the children.

I lovely invite out for tea tonight was a lovely surprise, so I am going to save the roast I was going to cook for tomorrow.

Before I go let me show you one of the cards we made at my class on Friday night. I am sorry we over ran ladies it's funny I thought the cards we made were going to be too quick, but as one lady pointed out there were lots of layers and some new techniques involved.

The first card uses the Fruit and Flowers stamp set from the Spring Mini Catalogue.

My colour combo was old olive and rich razzleberry, and whisper white was used for stamping on. There is stamping and hand cutting involved in this card as well as using chrystal effects to highlight the centre of the flowers. The lattice square embossing folder gives some texture to the background as well as the spritzer tool.

We decorated the inside too.

I hope you like my card. Enjoy your Sunday and I will be back tomorrow.

Thursday 9 February 2012

Monday Class Card 5 and 6

Morning, I am back with my last two cards to show you.

This card uses an image from Hopeful Thoughts. Do you remember me using the same set in the first card I showed you? I used the marker pens to colour in the stamp and then huffed the stamp to moisten the ink and stamped the image onto whisper white card. The vase is made from the ornament punch, and then you cut off the bottom. To give some texture we then put this through the stripes folder and the big shot. The sentiment is from Pocket Silhouttes and layered onto the decorative label punch which has been cut in half. A bit of whisper white satin ribbon and spritizing with the colour tool and wisteria wonder marker pen finishes off the look.

and the final card....

This card is so simple and uses on of the FREE sale-a-bration sets and early espresso inkpad and marker pen. The greeting is layered up on dimensionals after being punched out using the curly label punch.

I have my Friday class on the 10th at 7.30pm at Chapel Hay Methodist Church, Churchdown. I have a few spaces left so let me know by the end of the day if you would like to join us. We will be making two lovely cards.

Wednesday 8 February 2012

Monday Class card 3 and 4

Morning I am back with two more cards to show you from my recent 6 card class.

The above card showcases the Artistic Etchings stamp set and I have given it a vintage feel with the over stamping and the lace ribbon. The greeting is from Outlined Occasions which is one of the FREE sale-a-bration sets you can earn with an order of £45 until the 31st March 2012.

This card would be ideal for a male birthday. It incorporates the modern label punch, word window punch, scallop border punch and the square lattice folder for the big shot.

We used the rock and roll technique to get the two tone colour on the leaves. The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Back soon with the last two cards. I have a crafting morning planned with a fellow demonstrator today and then I am off to Hannah's school to help with costume change as her whole school are putting on a production this week called Olivia. The first performance is this afternoon. I watched their full dress rehearsal on Monday and they did so well, just a few technical isses to resolve.

Tuesday 7 February 2012

Monday Class card 1 and 2

Good Morning

Last night saw a busy evening at my 6 card class. Everybody had to make difficult choices as to which FREE sale-a-bration set they ordered!! one lady just had to have 2 sets. I am a bit naughty as I try to bring out different stamp sets each class or use them in a different way, so you can see the possibilities.....

Here are the first two cards of the evening.

Both of these cards used images from Everything Eleanor, and sentiments from Curly Cute and Hopefull Thoughts.

The get well card got dunked in the concord Crush inkpad at some point in the evening, hence the mucky corner of the card in the photo.

Friday 3 February 2012

and inside the box...

so what was inside the box...any guesses?

Now pay special attention to the corner of the card. There is a bookmark attached, which looks like this.

I will be back next week with the cards from my 6 card class which is on Monday evening at 7pm at St John's Church Hall, Churchdown. Places are available but I need to know by Sunday evening if you are coming. The price of the class is £11 or FREE with an order of £16 or more on the night. A great opportunity for you to meet with like minded crafters and build your stash on a monthly basis. Any order of £45 also qualifies for a FREE sale-a-bration set too.

Thursday 2 February 2012

February workshop make and take design

I have to say thank you to Amanda Fowler for this design. The layout is from a card we made last month at our quartely training, and I have just changed the colour combination.

The card uses one of the sale-a-bration stamp sets called Fresh Vintage. The colour combination is pool party, wisteria wonder and lucky limeade.

Isn't it just sooooo lovely....and remember the stamp set is FREE with an order of £45. I still have a few dates in February for party bookings so give me a call today to book yours.

Now here is my hostess gift...

I even worked out the measurements for this myself...make sure you check back to see what was in the box...

Wednesday 1 February 2012

Rich Flowers and embossing....

Over the last few months my sister and I have been drip feeding stampin'Up! to one of her friends in Birmingham. Now there is only so long that you can resist isn't there! One problem though was that Donna didn't drive and was therefore unable to attend events I run..Well guess what she has now passed her test...and last weekend she did a dummy run to Gloucester and used the motorway for the first time as she would like to attend the vintage extravaganza in March. In honour of this I designed a simple card for us to make last Saturday..she loved it and is coming down again this weekend for another card making session and is of course coming to extravaganza.

Here is the card we made, I just blinged mine a bit more after, as I only had 30 minutes from my sister that card making was one the menu.

I will be back tomorrow with some pictures of my workshop make and take for February and my hostess gift. Hannah is nagging me for tea...so best get to the kitchen!
