January's (Thursday Class)

Last Thursday was our class where we normally make an indepth card and a 3d project.

You will recognise the card as being similar to Monday's post....I just changed the colour combo and the stamping ink.

For our 3d project we made this long box from the pillow box die and the bigshot. It will fit a bar of chocolate!!! perhaps a nice pen or item of jewellery.

Training With Amanda Fowler

As I said on my previous post I went to our quarterly team taining on Saturday with Amanda Fowler. I had offered to do an inspiration table designed around one of the Sale-a-bration sets. This offer starts tomorrow the 24th January.....so make sure you come back and take a look.

I demonstrated the card below 4 times to around 40 people and promised to put the card details on my blog along with measurements. So here goes

First the card...

Here is the closed card...

Now for the measurements. This card is called an easel card and you will need.

1/2 sheet of A4 card scored at 10.5cm and 5.2cm. This will provide the card base. Remember to score the the lines nice and crisply with your bone folder. The fiskars trimmer makes this so easy to cut and score.

Then the front layer is a piece of cardstock measring 14.5cm x 10.2cm
The next layer is a piece of cardstock measuring 14.2cm x 10cm.
The insert is a piece of cardstock measuring 14.5cm x 10.2cm.

I distressed all the cardstock using the cutter tool but scissors work if you dont have this tool.

You could use this template and design your card around any stamp set and colour combo.

Any questions please give me a call on 01452 855231 X

"Celebrate its your day"

We have our quarterly team meeting tomorrow and I thought I would show you one of the items I am displaying on my inspiration table.

I was asked to use one of our new celebation sets called Outlined Occasions". In my box of "things" that I buy thinking that I might be able to use them at some point I found a 2012 calendar and a display stand. I decided to use them and make a desk calender using one of the DSPs from the mini catalogue and the My Friend stamp set.

Some ribbon and little embossed butterflies finish the look.

Right I have bags to pack for me and Hannah as she is off to her nanny's for the weekend.

Simply Adorned

I thought I would show you this delicious necklace I made recently using some new products from the mini catalogue.

The chain is from the simply adorned range and is 61cms long, and has a toggle clasp and Stampin'UP! charm identifier. I have decorated the necklance with one of the simply adorned charms. These are a locket-style charm with a hinge so that you can customize the charm with your own stamping or photo. I have stamped using the Artisitc Etchings stamp set and added a small heart and pearl. One of the simply adorned baubles, a key and a piece of victoria crochet ribbon finishes off the look.

Thank you Card

Morning...It's a short post today but I thought I would show you the little thank you card all my ladies received with their product orders in January.
Whilst blog hopping and Internet surfing I came upon a card which I feel in love with and I have adapted it slightly and come up with a similar version. I can't remember where I saw this card so if it's one of yours please let me know so that I can credit you.
I have adapted it again and used for my quarterly team meeting swap which is next week so pop back after then to see another version.

Baby Card

Do you remember me telling you about my Friend Paula and here baby that was due aroud the time of my birthday in December, well baby Harry finally arrived on the 28th December a mere 16! days late....Mother and baby are well (he is sooooo cute and I have to keep telling myself that it's to late to be going back to sleepless nights and teething) my baby starts secondary school in September!

I have had the little Additions stamp set for over a year now and only two of the stamps were mounted so I decided to mount the rest and make a card for Paula and Clive. Although I have many stamp sets and accessories sometimes it's easier to buy! omg I can't believe I have just admitted that. I know that handmade cards mean so much more and perhaps I need to make time to make cards for me rather than always for a class or someone else.

Anyway here is the card I came up with.

Monday Class Card 5 and 6

Hi there. Today I am showing you the last two cards we made a our 6 card class.

Here is the first card of the day....

I feel this card has so many possiblities, but I have used it for an anniverary card. We embossed the whisper white card base with the elegant bouquet embossing folder and then lighty daubered the image with wisteria wonder ink. Then using a small hand held punch we punched out very small circles of wisteria wonder cardstock and added to the centre of each flower.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and was stamped and punched out using the word window punch. The outer images was made from the decorative label punch and a clever technique using a post it note!

and the last of our 6 cards.

This card has a whisper white cardbase and is teamed with bravo burgundy ink and cardstock.

We used the spritzer tool and the bravo burgundy maker pen to create the background of the card. A strip of bravo burgundy cardstock and matching dsp from the paisley petals range were then distressed using the distressing tool, and the edges then lighty daubered.

The image comes from the new postage set in the Spring Mini and were coloured in using bravo burgundy and old love marker pens. We then punched out the image using the new postgage stamp punch and daubered the edges. These images were adhered using dimensionals.

The Happy Birthday sentiment comes from Create a Cupcake.

I do hope you have enjoyed the last 6 cards and that they have inspired to create your own. If you would like to join in at our next class it will be held on Monday 6th february at St John's Church, Churchdown. Just call to book your place. Sale-a-bration will be with us next month

Monday Class card 3 and 4

The weekend just flies by doesn't it....and then we are back to Monday morning, I hope the two cards I have for you today show you that minimal is ok, and your cards can look stylish with little product and effort!

Here is card 1.....

This card will be great to put by for the time when a masculine card is needed, and is very easy to create. The two stamp sets we used are Lovely as a Tree and Curly Cute which are in the main catalogue.

We have a very vanilla card base and we used More Mustard ink. First of all I made a template using the circles 2# die and the big shot. Next we placed the template on our card base and lightly daubered the inner circle. (this is called reverse masking) once this was done we stamped the tree image in the centre and added the happy birthday greeting at the bottom.

If you wanted a female version, you could follow the same technique and use flowers.

and card 2.....

Again we have a very vanilla base and we used crumb cake and soft suede ink.

We stamped the image Elizabeth straight onto the card base in crumb cake ink. This stamp is from our A la Carte' range and costs 8.95. We then stamped our greeting using one of the stamps you get in a set called It's your day which again is great value for money at £7.95 for 2 stamps. This was punched out using the oval punch and adhered using a dimensional to give some depth to the card.

Enjoy your day....and pop back soon

Monday Class card 1 and 2

Due to the first Monday of the month being a bank holiday we held our 6 card class on Friday evening. Thank you to my group of ladies who came along, the new Spring Mini catalogue was well received by all.

Here is the first card we made.....

We used a very vanilla card base teamed with pool party ink and cardstock. The images are from a new stamp set in the spring mini called Spiced Paisley and the greeting is from Your a Gem. We ran the pool party card stock through the stripes embossing folder and added a strip of dsp from spice cake and velvet ribbon. The greeting was stamped and then punched out using the 3/4" circle punch.

and card 2....

This card uses a whisper white base and is teamed with Not Quite Navy cardstock and ink.

The floral image comes from My Friend in the Spring Mini and the sentiment from Create a Cupcake, which was stamped and punched out using the ex large oval punch and mounted on a decorative label shape.

To finish off the card we used the embosslits butterflies and cut them out using dsp from Paisley Petals. To make the card "pop" some rhinestone gems would look lovely along the body of the butterflies.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, Hannah and I are off for a walk soon to blow the cobwebs away!

Spring Mini Catalogue

I am in love with this catalogue......I had such fun yesterday making some samples to show at last night's class. The vintage look and colours are so not in my colour palette ( I am a jewelled winter which means all the deep purples, green, black and white are so me) but I am so drawn to the mustards and browns to theme up with the stamp sets and accessories we have. No pink and purple for a while me thinks!!!

Here is one of my samples. A decorated journal

All the products used came from the Spring Mini or main Catalogue. (there may be something you don't recognise but all will be revealed after the 24th of January....

I have used a Stampin' Up! journal 6x6 and distressed so saffron and more mustard cardstock with the distressing tool and daubered the edges with crumb cake and early espresso ink. I have used the new spiced cake dsp and again distressed the edges with tearing and daubering. The circle in the centre comes from the circles 2# die and the sentiments from Your a Gem and something that will have to stay secret for a bit longer...I have used more mustard scallop dots ribbon, velvet ribbon from the spring mini, victoria crochet trim and very vaniila seam binding ribbon. Accessories come in the form of large buttons and a key charm from the mini and pearls from the main calatlogue. Ah nearly forgot I also used crystal effects on the "Love" and coloured in the small hearts with the real red marker pen.

I would love to know what you think of the journal?
