One week has passed

Well we have survived the first week of the school holidays. Have you?

We have visited the fair this week, been swimming and had several play dates. I have also managed to craft and prepare for my next Monday class which is the 8th August at 7pm.

Pop back again soon to see the lovely wedding gift I have made to give to my cousin who got married in July in Italy.

July's Thursday Class Project

We made these lovely scallop circle bags at our last Thursday class.
Georgina, Vicky and I worked to design the insert for the bags ourselves as I found lots of these bag designs on the Internet but couldn't find any measurements for the inserts.
The flowers were made using the flowers die and the lattice square embossing folder and the big shot. The cardstock used was so saffron, daffodil delight and springtime vintage dsp.
The scallop circles were made using perfect plum cardstock and rose red. The die was again passed through the big shot. as you can pass through about 6 pieces of cardstock at the same time it made the prep a lot quicker.
The leaves were from the 2 step bird punch.

July Quarterly Training

Morning all....Well its the first full week of the school holidays for us and the "what are we doing today" has already started.
Well Hannah I need to do some washing, renew the car insurance, sort out our family rail card, collect a book for the library and the list goes on........Think we will need to compromise somewhere along the line don't you? At the moment she is listening to music so I am trying to get as much done as I can whilst she is occupied. Just the library to go now...
I was a bit behind with posting last week but thought I would show you the two swaps I designed to take to our quarterly training on the 16th. It was a fun day with lots of chat and crafting. Although its a long day and involves a fair bit of travelling it is always well worth it.
Now I will try and keep up with posting on my blog over the holidays so please do keep popping back. Classes will be running through the holidays and I am available if you would like a home workshop during August as well. Just contact me for available dates X

Monday Class Card 6

This is our Christmas card of the evening. It was a whisper white cardbase teamed with Bravo Burgundy cardstock and ink. The snowflake images come from Serene Snowflakes and the greeting is from Contempo Christmas. We have used the spiral border punch along on side of the cardstock and stamped the centre images and greeting using the white craft ink. A rhinestone gem has been placed in the centre.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing this months cards. Would you like to join us at the next class? Its on the 8th August at 7pm, please contact me for more details.

Monday Class Card 5

This was our second card of the evening aimed at males, but do you know what most of my ladies swapped the greeting to SEASONS GREETINGS from Curly Cute and were going to add a bit of sparkle and have it as a christmas card. I am so pleased that my ladies feel comfortable to be able to change a card or its greeting. My original design is there if you want it, but we all learn so much from sharing our creativity!
The card is a very vanilla base and strips of always artichoke and garden green cardstock. Both inkpads in the same colour were on the table for stamping the tree. The tree image comes from Lovely as a Tree

Monday Class Card 4

Our fourth card of the evening could be used for a number of occasions. I left this card without a greeting, but left choices out on the table so that my ladies could personalise their card.
We have a whisper white base and then concord crush as the co-ordinating colour. I have used the Strength and Hope stamp set which is one of my favourites at the moment.
The middle of the card has a decorative label punched out in concord crush and then the butterfly was stamped onto a piece of scrap card and punched out using the ex large oval punch. This doesn't give you the full butterfly but you want to make sure you have the antennae. Then stamp and hand cut out another butterfly without the antennae and adhere it on top.
My ladies and I don't do fiddly cutting out!

Monday Class card 3

Our third card is inspired from last months Thursday project. We used the Garden Whimsy stamp set and another greeting from Sincere Salutations.
Our card base is very vanilla together with Regal Rose and Soft Suede inkpads for stamping with. The images have been stamped onto 1 3/4" squares and then glued together to form a jigsaw like pattern.
Remember our cards at this class are stylish but easy to put together, so that everyone should go home with 6 completed cards.

Monday Class Card 2

I know a number of my ladies, don't like to use the wheels and handles straight onto their cardbase, but hey ladies practice makes perfect!!
We have a whisper white base and have then used perfect plum ink and cardstock. The wheel is the retro mix and then we used the big shot and beautiful wings embosslits with a greeting from Sincere Salutations.

Monday Class card 1

Our first card is a male themed card. We have used whisper white and basic black cardstock and ink.
The motorbike comes from the mini catalogue and is excellent value for money at £7.95.
I wanted to achieve a clean look with this card with no fuss, although we did use the distressing tool to rough up the edges of the cardstock.
The greeting comes from Occasional Greetings and is one that I often overlook but I think the size of it blends itself well to this card.

A picture from Bournemouth

Just a few photo's from our weekend away.....The weather was absolutely gorgeous just sun sun sun!!!! The bottom photo shows Hannah in the blue with her friend George. The both compete for the youth division of GCA Fireflies. They had so much fun on the beach and in the sea. Must admit to having a bit of a paddle too.
The top photo is of the BIC in Bournemouth you can just make out the number of people below where we were sitting. Apparently there was a 16K footfall over the weekend, that's a lot of people. Many people watched their teams perform and then moved outside to the beach.
The Youth team came 8th out of 14 so we were really pleased as they were up against some really top squads.

And the Box envelope

This template is the same that we used for last months project, but we have just altered the overall look.
The box itself is early espresso, and then we have embossed panels of regal rose using the big shot and vintage wallpaper.
The butterflies were also cut using the big shot and then put through the same embossing folder. A few pearls finished the look.
Now thinking of next months projects.
